Ok..so above are two links, 1 to the Internet Movie Database page for the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movie in 2007, a movie that I hope kicks SO much ass it's going just....well.....well...KICK ASS!!!

Now there have been SO many concerns with this movie with regards to the overall tone of the movie right down the to character designs...and with good reason! I mean, how long has it been since we could walk into a movie theater and say "One for the Ninja Turltes movie please"...a looooonnnng time ago, that's for sure!

Now that the flick is due to come out in March of next year I am SO stoked and am hoping for the best (Mikey burping in the trailer was HELLA weak and waaaay to 'dick and fart kiddy humour' for my liking.

That being said I know that the Turtles have to appease both kids and the older 'kids' alike :) I know that when I was growing up with the Ninja Turtles I HATED the 'burpy/pie in the face' garbage that they stuck in the shows or movies...it's just not funny in a Universe where all these awesome characters live in...the 1st Turtles movie was A-MAZING and had the perfect blend of humour and action...

Now on this board in particular I have seen a few comments with regards to people not really diggin' the designs of the characters, most notably the humans. I have to agree the designs for the humans ARE kinda cruddy, BUT, and here is the HUGE 'B-U-T'...if this movie is what most people are hoping it will be, I don't think that will really matter. I mean look at the human designs for the movie "The Incredibles". They were downright silly lookin' BUT the movie was SO damn cool and had so many awesome 'serious' moments and great action, that the movie was loved.

I am so crossing my fingers that this happens here..but at least with the 2 links I posted above you can see why the studio opted for the designs they went with...here is an excerpt if you don't wanna go and look at the page itself. Although I would recommend it, 'cause it has some cool FAQ that have certainly cleared up a few things I was wondering SLASH concerned about.

Why the cartoony animation style? Why didn't they make it like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within?

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within was a colossal failure that resulted in the director being fired and the company being bought out. Shockingly, most major film studios do not believe this is a formula they would like to try.

..That makes sense to me.

Yeah that is a good FAQ over at IMDB.

Final Fantasy really was awful to the 10th power. After viewing the movie I still have no idea what the hell it was about, and I really couldn't care less.

I think the animation style is fine. I wasn't expecting Spirits Within as far as look goes. The cartoony style is good.

My main concerns right now are the painfully miscast voice actors like Ziyi and Evans as Karai and Casey Jones especially.

Also some of the lines the trailer came off as really cliche, derivative, and kinda lame. They were really stock lines.

Bwahaha!! :D Soooo true! That movie sucked gigantic HUMUNGOUS horse balls!

I mean, how do you think I feel?!? I went and bought all of the damn toys before hand...sat down in the theater and scratched my head 'til I reached bone...keeeriste that movie was brutal.

..also did anyone notice how you rarely if at all saw the feet of the characters? I know it sounds weird but do you think they did that 'cause they didn't master how feet should move around on different grounds or just the way the movie was shot it didn't warrant it. I know it sounds weird what I'm saying but constructing an entire CG or animated movie is hard damn work and things we take for granted that are in Live Action are SO hard to duplicate in an animated style...

..anyways yeah that movie blew.

And yes TheVileOne I did notice the line readings were ......kinda lame in some parts.

I mean I am all for finding 'new talent' or whatever to voice the characters I could care less if it's a 'name' star..just make sure they are friggin' GOOD! That's my only feelings on wanting a 'name' star...cause more or less you know they'll do a great job (ex.--"The Incredibles")

I miss Kevin Clash, Elias Koteas, and the rest of the original cast. They weren't big name stars, but a movie like this do we really need all big names. Only Karai I am really pleased with the casting. While I wouldn't have mind Michelle Yeoh, Lucy Lui, Gong Li, or Ming-Na, I think Zhang Ziyi will handle her own as the successor to The Shredder.

Just cast Lauren Tom. You don't need to cast Ziyi who can barely speak English.

My opinion, I think they should have went with the Advent Children look. Advent Children was so much better than Spirits Within. To be honest, I think they were trying to find it's own look and feel to the movie. But if the do change the look they should have like Advent Children.(Tifa was so hot in that movie.) Don't change the turtles to much, make the legs a little bit bigger and it will be perfect.

Who's the guy who played as Angel from Buffy. Yeah, he's very Casey like. As far as his voice goes.

No, you don't even cast David Boreanaz as Casey Jones. Someone like I dunno John DiMaggio.

He'd been better as the greasy chef Kevin Smith is playing.

The dude is a legit talent that has RANGE unlike Chris Evans.

Watch Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust sometime.

I'm not saying he is a bad voice-actor. He was General Grievous on "Star Wars: Clone Wars" and Bender on "Futurama."

He's also done "Celebrity Deathmatch", "Duck Dodgers", and other shows.

Brad Garrett is another legitimate voice-actor/talent.

Maybe you guys are right. Now that i think about it, David Boreanaz (I finally got his name.)might not be a good choice for Casey. How about the guy that was in the first movie that played Casey or, if you guys have other ideas....

Elias Koteas was Casey in all of the Turtles films. It's sad he's not returning. He could still play him, all they needed was a better actress as April and not Sarah "Buffy" Michelle Gellar playing her.

personally, i'm concern over Kevin Monroe himself.

He doesn't have alot on his resume, and hell, even if he's a good filmmaker, we won't know until the movie hits.

Pretty much, this is his BIG movie and he has BOTH directing and writing duties. Coming from a fairly unknown guy, I can't really judge him. I hope for the best, but I've got a funny feeling about this movie..

You know you bring a good point. Kevin Monroe is new to the hole fimmaker screen but, I have a great feeling that this movie may blow his career through the sky. Now, I know some of you may or may not agree but he does have a good cast for the characters. Not really agreeing on the human torch playing Casey, but a good cast indeed. Pactrick Stuward (Iknow I had spelled his last name wrong but back to my point.) as Winters is a great addition to the movie, no matter what movie hes in or voice acting he always seem to make a impact on his work and I like that. Zhang Ziyi as Karai well, I had to say her first movies yes she did not speak english then. But now for those who may or may not seen Memours Of A Geisha english verson. That was her speaking english. And we all know from the new toon that Karai has a nice, conforting, sexy voice. Now I have heard Zhang Ziyi speak english on TV. She has a nice, confroting, sexy voice. Sarah "Buffy" Michelle Gellar, I think its the best pick for April. Mako voice of Slinter, best pick. Mako was a great actor, god bless his soul. I think they is using the voice actors from the new toon fot the turtles. I could be wrong but hoe come they didn't have any actors for the voice of the turtles. Your thoughts?

The actors from the current cartoon series are NOT playing the turtles in the new movie.

Really?!, Then this should be even more interesting than I thought.
