As someone who lost their virginity a couple of years ago at the age of 25, I can attest to this. As much as I always thought I'd be the level-headed one who would turn down sex if things didn't seem right, the opposite is what ended up happening. The moment me and my ex realized we had feelings for each other, instead of distancing ourselves like we should have (since she had a boyfriend), we tried to convince each other why it was right. That only lead to a long make out session and dry humping in a set of dirty staircases in her building at 2am.

Now that I'm out of that relationship, there's definitely a part of me that relates to you, which is hard because I want to be with someone, but at the same time I feel like I'm better off alone. But my advice would be to try as hard as you can to not focus on it too much. Fill up your time and mind with more productive thoughts and don't try to force a situation with a girl just because you want to do stuff.

You are who you surround yourself around. It's normal to feel that you may be acting "holier than thou" or belittling your friends with that line of thinking, but it's not entirely true. You have to do you.
