Spin-offs: Lauren Donner, producer for the first two movies, has said the movie studio is interested in producing two spin-off films. One film will star Wolverine, in which Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as the clawed warrior. Screenwriter Sheldon Turner is currently working on bringing Magneto to the big screen in his own spin-off film. The plot will deal with the character's friendship turned sour with Charles Xavier. Turner has stated that "It's going to take place from 1939 Auschwitz up to 1955 or so." Although it at first appears unlikely that Ian McKellen will reprise his role, recently he stated that both he and Patrick Stewart would actually be playing younger incarnations of their respective characters due to a CGI effect which is able to make the actors appear younger.[1] Rebecca Romijn, who plays Mystique in the X-Men franchise, has been approached about a Mystique film. Reputable movie news site http://www.superherohype.com is now reporting that X-Men: The Last Stand screenwriter Zak Penn is now writing a third X-Men spin-off film as well. SourcE: Wikipedia

Elektra -vs- Striker's Son (who barely made it out of the X2 debacle) lol

i would like to see another elektra movie, im actually a fan of the first one.

I dont wanna see a mystique movie...

but I cant wait for the Magneto and Wolverine movies.

the 3rd one I always found Collosus' story very interesting and think it would make an awesome movie as well.

i wouldnt mind a Mystique one. but it would have to do with Freedom Force and her pardon from the government.

Do they need to do a spin-off of EVERY character? Wolverine I can see (although really, didn't we just get 3 Wolverine movies). Magneto I guess makes sense too. But Mystique? I just dont see the appeal. She works best as a side character, I doubt she could hold her own film.

Just stick to standard X-Men films. I want to see a Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse trilogy.

Mystique isn't the third spin-off. Check the first post. The third spin-off is unknown to the public.

I think Wolverine and Magneto is the only 2 Characters that i would want to see a spin off of.

Wolverine could definitely carry a spinoff film. Magneto.....I'm not so sure.

Magneto's really cool in the movies, but it's because he's interacting with the X-Men. Going back and doing a movie about a young Magneto may not be the best move. If such a movie were made, Fox shouldn't break the bank on the budget b/c this movie isn't going to generate anything close to the amount they X-Men films have made.

As for the third spinoff, I don't know who they'd use. I don't any other character is interesting enough to carry a feature film by themselves. In theory, there are enough X-Men to keep the franchise going without Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry. Do you guys think the public would be willing to except a fourth X-Men film without Wolverine, Storm, Jean, and apparently Cyclops?

I like the idea of a Magneto spin-off.. his story is one of the most interesting ones, plus it kinda shows how the X-men started.

Wolverine is an obvious spin-off

as for a 3rd.. Collosus, Gambit, Cyclops.. all have stories that can carry a movie.. even Storm but we've seen how Halle Berry does as a comic hero on her own so lets hope there isnt a repeat.

I read the 3rd might focus on the younger X-Men.

I'll try to post a link.

what about a low budget spinoff focusing on Generation X or the New Mutants?

Skip the stupid Magneto spinoff which will bomb and just go ahead with X4. Common sense Avi.

sorry. but Ratner nearly ruined X3, im hoping he leaves and doesnt direct anymore movies. and if he does, id rather see some good spinoffs before i see a horrible X4

Ratners movies are usually a sucess like Red Dragon, and the Rush Hours.. I liked X-3 as well I wanna see what Ratner can do when he can do his own thing, he kinda had to do the Phoenix in X-3 since Singer already started it.

You have a good point. A Magneto movie isn't going to be the big hit he (and apparently Fox) thinks it's going to me.

Arad has a problem thinking that every Marvel character is worthy of a solo movie. We all know better. Elektra should never have been made. The character really isn't all that interesting outside of her interaction with DD. That's been made quite apparent by the lack of success of her solo titles.

Arad has stated that the Silver Surfer needs a solo movie. Why? He can't sustain a comic book either. His book was canned even when Stan Lee and John Buscema were doing it. He's a cool oncept, but outside of his interplay with the FF and other stars in the Marvel Universe, he doesn't garner a lot of interest. Why would a studio bankroll a big budget movie on the Surfer unless they just want to lose money? And while were on the subject of future movies, Marvel needs to think long and hard about Namor, Deathlock, and WereWolf by night before giving those films the green light.

Magneto is cool. A lot of us would go see the movie. But as for the masses of people who make up the majority of the movie going public.....I seriously doubt it.

I think a Magneto movie will be a big hit!

if it focuses on the holocaust, his origin, then leads into how the X-men began.. big hit! why? cuz its Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen working there magic with a workable storyline.. cant go wrong with that these guys can make a movie great. I dont see an action-packed movie but if they make it real deep and get into the story, throw a lot of emotion out it could be a huge success.

The Magneto movie shouldn't be real action orintated. Approach it as a physicolical thriller. Show how these two men who are as close as brothers sharing a dream get to the point where they are firghting each other. It should be emmotionaly heavy not action heavy.

the action will come from tha Nazis and the anti-mutants, other then that it should just be one of those deep dramas.

I can't wait for both movies!!! I like how these two movies will explain their past before Xmen!! I hope to see familiar faces like Lady Deathstrike, Psylocke, Sabertooth, among newbies.

Nobody will be interested in Storm, since Catwoman.

i think fans would clamour for a gambit or collosus movie. wolvy is a given. and a cool think about the magneto movie is getting to see more of them recruiting mutants like they showed with jean in x3. we could see how scott got on board and storm and so on. plus maybe explain that juggernaut and charles are brothers, there is alot of good material there that could make a magneto movie great.

a gambit film would almost have to happen after x3 and show his interaction with the younger mutants and such (like rouge). it could be a very good coming of age movie for the younger x-men. the problem if it happened after x3 is that it might as well be x4. but i doubt that if hugh doesnt sign for an x4 then there will never be an x4, at least not in that name. there may be a continuation of the x-men saga but not an x4 INO
