I am a huge fan of Old Skool transformers. But Truthfull I know nothing about the new films. I have looked on this site, but so much has been posted and I am having trouble find my answers...(Perhaps i am a little lazy)so if you have a minute?

1. What is the allspark?

2. Are Energon cubes in the film?

3. Do they come looking to make energon cubes on earth from earths energy?

4. Is the Matrix in the film?

5. Whats this I read about morphing?

6. do the Transformers awaken on earth 3 millions later after crash landing. 7

7. Is teltran 1 in the film?

8. Do we see Cyberton?

9. Tranport/Space bridges?

10. I assume Prime and megatron have been enemies for millions of years?

11. What is megatron? Does he turn into a Gun? A Cannon or a Tank?

12. What else do I need to

13. Will they have similar personaltities to the original Cartoon series from the 80's

14. Will star scream be the traitorous type.......?

Thanks for your time!!!!!!!!!!!

i'll try to answer the questions as best i can. i haven't followed the film 100% so bare with me.

1 - the allspark is a small box that seems to make machinery and electronics come to life. it's basically the movie version of "energon" and the transformers come to Earth looking for it.
2 - see above. the allspark is the movie's version of "energon".
3 - see above. they come to earth looking for the "allspark".
4 - not as far as i can tell, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist either.
5 - the morphing you're referring to is probably the way they transform. it's pretty much impossible to make a humanoid robot transform out of parts from REAL vehicles without "cheating" the transformations (disappearing parts, bending parts, etc.) so they have to "morph" or BEND certain parts in order to make the transformations work.
6 - i think Megatron is the only transformer on Earth when the movie starts. the rest arrive during the film.
7 - not that i've heard of, but i haven't read the script.
8 - according to the leaked script, yes...but i think we only see it briefly.
9 - i don't know what transport bridges you're talkin' about...sorry.
10 - of course, hehe
11 - Megatron doesn't have an Earth form like the rest of the transformers in the movie. he's the only transformer in the movie that stays in his Cybertronian form. his vehicle mode is a Cybertronian jet.

Thanks guys it does help a bit.....Actually I am a bit disappointed with the fact that they didnt come to earth looking for Energon...I always like that element.

Not to mention I always liked the fact they awaken on earth 3 million years after their ship crashes........Why change these basic elements.......? Oh well

Again thanks for the information

Shhhhh don't let CFlash and Blind Fury hear you say that.

Well, in the several-decades-ago preamble he is the only one, but as soon as the movie reaches present time all decepticons and Bumblebee are already on earth, (they've just arrived, though).

Some questions that were not completely answered:

9- There is no such thing as a space bridge in the movie. Or an Ark. The transformers arrive on earth inside giant metal balls (you can see that in the trailer).

7- Teletran-1 is also completely absent, as you might've already figured out.

13- About their personalities, well... in the leaked script most of them have no personality at all. Prime you could say is spot-on, Ironhide is eager to destroy stuff, so he's kinda like G1 Ironhide though he only has like two lines, Bumblebee befriends humans, so you could say he's like G1 Bumblebee though he has no lines at all since his voice circuits or something are busted so he communicates through his radio, which doesn't make any sense but whatever.

Jazz and Ratchet are just two robots named Jazz and Ratchet. The Decepticons are all silent killing machines. Megatron is a killing machine with spoken lines.

That's pretty much it.

14- Nah. In the leaked script there is no trace whatsoever of the Megatron/Starscream rivalry, but it seems like with the revisions they added something like Megatron saying "You failed me yet again, Starscream!", or something. Don't expect much more than that.

Who's to say there's no ark. The giant metal balls have to come from somewhere. In the prequel novelization the autobots are on the ark and turn into the metal balls when there shooting down to a planet, looking for the allspark.

Is this for real? I had no idea the ark was included in the novel.

Damn thats sweet, is there any other TF's featured in the novel other then the ones appearing in the movie?

Yes, the ark is indeed in the novelization. Starscream may have a *small* rivalry as suggested in one or two lines, but there seems to have been Starscream added lines.

Is any of that in the movie?

nope...not in the script.....sorry

I read the script, it was a rethorical question.

If there isn't an ark in the movie, there isn't an ark in the movie. I don't give a flying f**k if there's an ark on the novel or comics or whatever.

It's like people saying Boba Fett is a cool character because of novels and comics and etc. To me he is a ***** who gets his arse handed to him in ten seconds.

lol.............well, he DOES come back later on..........just not in the movies.......

All this talk of morphing worries me. To me nothing beats the notion that teltran-1 one redesigns the Transformers to blend into earth. I don't think each robot should have that ability. Cause technically they could be changing constantly. From a car to a plane etc when they feel the need... It should be some thing else. Teltran-1, the ark, some kind of ship. A device or something........

It's not just about the Ark existing. It's easy to put a spaceship offscreen and call it "The Ark." :whatever:

What made the Ark interesting (to me) was that it was buried in a mountain for 4 million years. Every time I looked up at a mountain or some mysterious cliff, I'd wonder what was in it. It was a cool (and pretty original) sci-fi premise.

Yeah. It seems to take away a bit of "something" from the original story. It actually takes away realism-- for the sake of simplicity. I liked the idea that it took a supercomputer with far more computing ability than any one robot to reformat them.... now they can do it at will. It seems cheap.

Too bad the previous Transformers FAQs got deleted in the thread purge. WalkingDead or 1987olds442 created it and put a lot of work into it. Oh well, this thread'll do. Good job getting everyone caught up.

Spaces bridges are an integeral part of TF lore. G1 used it as a Deus Ex to get the TF's from Cybertron to Earth and back again. It was built by the Decepticons, and the Autobots has to comandeer it to use it. In RiD the Autobots have built an entire network of Space bridges to get anywhere on earth in less than half an hour (and the Predacons and Decepticons are always trying to break it/break into it). In Armada a similar teleportation system is used by the Autobots to travel from Cybertron to Earth. And by the Decepticons to travel from the retrofitted Mini-con ship on the moon to Earth.

Because the only TF shows that start with a ship full of Trnsformers crashing to earth by accedent is G1 and Beast Wars. RiD copied it a little with the origin of the Decepticons, but the main forces arrive on Earth on purpose.

Another thing. It's becoming increasingly clear that this movie was written using not just G1 but all Transformers lore.

hmmmm... the Space Bridge. If I remember correctly (and I probably don't) the whole reason the Constructicons were created (in the comic book) was to build a Space Bridge back to Cybertron. And, they defended it as Devastator.

A space bridge to Cybertron would have been disasterous for Earth. Alien-Nation kinda used a very similar story premise years later. Although the writing sometimes sucked and the art wasn't always top-notch, I think the original comic book put forth a lot of interesting premises that would have made a great movie. Just my 2c.

Agreed with CFlash, for those that only saw the cartoon, the comic series was something else. It detailed the characters and plot really well, some of the lesser known characters in the cartoon was given more depth, you could see what certain TF's were well skilled at, whom there friends were, and in terms of the Decpticons, just how evil and sinister some were. The reason why I love Shockwave so much was how he was portrayed. It would be pretty sweet if they made another animated series true to the comic.
