shinlyle said:Awesome! And Marvel is even SUPPORTING the book this time!
Then again, if they'd supported it and promoted it the first time around, it might still be selling well...
This is great news! Between this news, and the news of Marvel re-releasing Kraven's Last Hunt in a new Hardcover, That makes 2 things they've done in the last week that haven't pissed me off!

CaptainStacy said:I dunno...with sales on the book as dismal as they were, will a relaunch really be enough to keep this title afloat?
I'll honestly be surprised if it lasts 18 issues.
I've read Spider-girl and, to tell the truth, I didn't like it. Peter and MJ were too close to what I'd consider stereotypical parents.Themanofbat said:Like Wolverine said, it didn't do well with the direct sales markets, but I guess it sold well at newsstands... well enough to warrant a relaunch.
And if Marvel actually promotes the book via direct sales AND through schools and other media bits, there are enough young girls out there that would love a Spider-Girl comic to buy and read.
And the fanboys that want that old school Spider-Man reading (I'm looking at you Cullen), this is the perfect book for them.

I feel the same way...Cullen said:I hear the series is starting up again under a new title! While I've never liked the series, I find that this news cheers me up a great deal. Here's to the next hundred issues giving you more of the Spider-girl tales you love!http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=7792

I know, I know. I thought I fixed it. i'm such a fool.arachnid-guy said:You spelt 'Congratulations' wrong.....
Congradulations
Sorry...i'm in a critique-type mood!
I don't see it, myself.arachnid-guy said:People annoyed with 'The Other' should read 'Last Hunt' the foundations for Pete being either the spider or the man were laid even then. Check it out. Interesting that it would be looked upon as a interesting dark take on spidey...but now 'The Other' was slated for elaborating on what could be found 20-odd years earlier.
hm...this gives me an idea for a new thread.....

Jeffers said:I'm not sure Spider-Girl ever sold on the newsstands. One of the problems with the distribution is that it wasn't among the titles available at Borders or Barnes&Noble.
What saved Spider-Girl is that the digests sold well at mainstream bookstores and proved more popular than Marvel ever expected at school book fairs.
Hopefully the relaunch will get The Amazing Spider-Girl into more newsstands, where it probably will do very well.
