Console crashing

Does anyone else's PS3 freeze up very often? Mine's doing so now and again when using the text input while on the internet browser, and it's done it while closing an application before. The only way i'm able to rectify it is by holding down standby to turn it off, and i'm scared i'll screw the machine up if done too much. But it's done it to me twice now in the space of an hour or so!

That's happened to me on a few websites. They must be using software the PS3 has been upgraded to yet. That's my theory at least.
