CONSTANTINE AND PAPA MIDNITE MUST JOIN FORCES TO LAY TO REST A DEADLY THREAT – EMMET SCANLAN AND MICHAEL JAMES SHAW GUEST STAR – In New Orleans, Constantine’s (Matt Ryan) unusual knowledge of a string of crimes gets him into trouble with Detective Jim Corrigan (guest star Emmett Scanlan). He must form an unholy alliance with Papa Midnite (guest star Michael James Shaw) when a voodoo ritual to help people communicate with their dead loved ones takes a deadly turn. Charles Halford and Angélica Celaya also star.

Corrigan tonight.

Jim isn't quite The Spectre just yet.
but a cool enough intro to the character if they decide to revisit it.
Maybe they won't just tease it like they did with Dr Fate.

10/10!!! Anyone noticed the Confessions homage with that old man and the hitchhiker?

And the show's the 2nd most trending topic on Twitter tonight.

I'm sure The Spectre fans were quite happy with this episode. It was a nice nod when Zed had a vision of green mist around Corrigan.

As for this particular Constantine fan... I liked the previous one better, but can't say that this was a bad episode. It was nice to see Midnite's sister make an appearance by the way.

And is it just me or are they letting Constantine smoke more and more prominently as of late? Not just that he had a *** (no need to censure this Hype, I'm referring to cigarettes not a gay person! :whatever:) in many scenes, but I'm also sure I've seen him exhale the smoke.

Yup. 3 ciggies in one episode

Nice. I probably wouldn't pay so much attention on the details if I haven't read that he's not allow to inhale, so now I'm observing it more carefully out of curiosity, like "how are they going to pull it off this time".

Anyway, I don't know if any other smoker experienced this, but as a devoted smoker I sometimes got a sort of an itching feeling in some of previous episodes when I'd ran out of cigarettes and he would just hold a cigarette in his hand or even in his mouth, noticeably not inhaling it. I remember thinking "just draw the goddamn smoke already!" :woot:

Loved the episode and the back and forth between Papa and John is great.

Best scene of the episode is near the end when Zed get's a vision of Jim and there's the green glow behind him.

Good Episode. Only thing that took me out for a moment, is when I realized they used a Japanese urban legend for one of their ghosts.

good episode. Loved the Spectre tease.

I really hope NBC keeps this show going.

This show's improving. They've been embracing the darkness and edginess of the source material more these past 2 episodes, and John is more of a bastard in those episodes as well. Im loving it now and it's now my favorite comic book show and has surpassed The Flash.

Cool that NBC are letting John smoke.

Enjoyed the Spectre and Resurrection Crusade tease. Someone said Zed had a white streak in her hair in the vision scene which is another nice nod to her comic appearance.

I could see the season finale being John coming face to face with Nergal and the Damnation Army. John needs to get that demon blood ;)

I thought it was funny that the second time Chas encountered her, he asked her questions instead of answering them and getting attacked..

Oh lawdy lawd, finally! THIS episode felt close to a true Hellblazer story. The past few were more like Constantine in Nu52 (yes even the Hunger Demon one, as watered down as it was). But this one, this one had the wiff of Hellblazer. It's not quite there yet but if they keep going into this direction then this show will go from medicore to good.

Nice... I didn't notice the gray streak in his hair when watching the episode.

Keeps getting better! I hope the ratings stay steady and NBC orders a back 9.

How many episodes has been ordered so far? 14, 15?

13, which happens to be the episode they're filming now.
