Feel free to delete if this topic already exists..but i can't find any so here we go..what's the real deal with devie and the constructicons in the egypt scene? so does it imply that devastator is a separate entity with the other 'solo' constructicons? it really never occured to me that that will be the direction Bay and the writers took regarding Devastator as the toys and previous scoops we had really seem to tell that Devie will be composed of individual bots and not just duplicates of construction vehicles (remember all the confusions we had regarding Demolishor being in Shanghai, Rampage being red, etc, and then only to find out that Devie is actually a separate Decepticon!)..aaaah! thoughts? Btw, who was the sacrificial bot in the Mega resurrection?

Scrapper was sacrificed, meaning there are actually three of this model in the film.

I assume Devastator was intended to be the combination of some of the Decepticon reinforcements. In fact, there's a scene where exactly seven protoforms land in Egypt, which I imagine was intended to represent the bots that transform into Devastator.

The constructicons are a kind of sub-faction of the decepticons. Devastator is formed from 5-8 constucticons. But there are a few dozen constructicons out there.

^i kinda know that..i was just expecting long haul and the rest of the gang to merge into Devie. For so long, we thought that Devie will kinda be the main feature of the climactic battle, but to my surprise was treated differently, blown up in seconds..it's indeed funny to know that Scrapper has 3 versions..:woot:.clones indeed..

After Bonecrusher and Brawl in the first movie you expected Devastator to be different?

After the second viewing, I was watching these scenes closely, as the first time cause it was my big continuity complaint. And 5 Transformers land near the ruins to do battle. Then at the construction site a little later, the same cars pull up to surround Simmons.
Count em as they land. There is only so many.

The flimsy excuse of 3 versions each, doesn't hold up cause it's not explained in the movie fellas. i don't care what they do in the cartoon, the movieverse is different obviously, and there is a big continuity problem that is not explained (in the movie).

Didn't the novel or comic book adaptation of the movie explain that the constructicon that makes up Devastator's torso was blown up, so the rest had to disassemble?

Scrapper Longhaul Mixmaster & Rampge are individuals constructicons

As a longtime TF fan, I hate this aspect of the movie alot. In TF except for the drones every TF is unique, and Constructicons (and their combined form, Devastator) are not only unique, but they have distinction of being the first combiner and a longtime rivalry with Omega Supreme. To be reduced to drones in ROTF is something that I dispise, and it goes to show that as entertaining as both movies are, they are really Transformers in name only, and Bay makes most of the stuff up.

Please tell. I felt so sorry for him!:csad:

Personally, I'm subscribing to the idea that Devastator wasn't a traditional combiner but was instead simply one mind that inhabited seven bodies rather than being the combined mind of seven individual ones.

A Scrapper constructicon clone I believe.
I just read on TF wiki that it was Hightower but he was rebuilt for the final battle so he could form Devs. But if Devs is his own robot then I just Hightower was just left down there.:csad:

But I'm happy because I can get a figure of him when it comes out. I hope it says on his bio thought that he was used to bring Megatron back.

edit: another article says it was scrapper so IDK:csad:

Wikipedia is wrong, it was a Scrapper clone, possibly with a different name as Scrapper is in the final battle(as Scavenger is in the final battle, and Demolishor died in the beginning...so the sacrificed Constructicon had a different name).

I haven't seen it, but, If I've read that the Protoforms that land on Egypt scan the Construction vehicles alt-modes. So, they get identhycal to the Constructions, who were forming Devastator.

It's pretty clear. It's either an editing gaffe, or the landing Decepticons scanned the only suitable forms: The existing Decepticon constructicons.

And given the editing, the latter is clearly the better answer.
