Cosplay advice

Hi all

So I'm going to MCM London this year, and want to give this cosplay lark a go

Got a couple of ideas, but as a first timer I dunno where to start. I'm currently torn between Star Lord and Benny from The LEGO Movie.

Both have their pros and cons for going as them, but I need some advice on difficulty, cost etc from people who have done it before. Not planning on a masterpiece, a passable likeness will do!

So is either better than the other?
