Well the title says it all this thread is about guilty pleasures, i'll be brave and start with examples of my own shame.

Costumes
The Daredevil Armor...i'm sorry it rocked! I love classic DD but this was so cool and they shouldn't have wasted the design on him for a stunt make a new character resurrect the design.

PS I got the idea for this thread from another one that ask for characters who needed a redesign ie. superman, dr. strange.

Another character I love was Nightwatch

Marvels answer to spawn sort of only really different.

bio:
Nightwatch was Doctor Kevin Trench, who witnessed a costumed man die battling some terrorists armed with invisibility-generating 'cloaking" devices, and unmasked the corpse to learn that it was an older version of himself. His first appearance was in Web of Spider-Man #99.

Freaking out, Trench stripped the costume from "his" body and fled to a deserted island, reasoning that if he just never wore the suit or went home, he wouldn't die (Web of Spider-Man #100). Events conspired to bring him back, as the criminal Alfredo stole one of the costume gloves after washing up on the island and being nursed to health by Trench (Web of Spider-Man #98-9). After Alfredo had been dealt with, Trench decided that he couldn't avoid his destiny, and decided to investigate the costume's origins (Web of Spider-Man #100).

In the interim, he battled menaces like the "Maximum Carnage" gang, who were wreaking havoc across New York and slaughtering dozens of innocent civillains. He had many allies in the fight, including, but not limited to, Captain America, Black Cat, Deathlok and Firestar. He also fought the mutated Deathmask. Graduating into his own book, Nightwatch encountered similar "cloaked" villains, and was shocked when their technology merged with and enhanced his costume (Nightwatch #1). In between battling menaces like Flashpoint, Cardiac (whose technology had been stolen to create the more vicious Cardiaxe), and Venom, Nightwatch discovered that an old ex-girlfriend was working for the shady Morelle Pharmaceuticals on a nanotech project.

Ultimately, project head Phillip Morelle proved to be corrupt, and Nightwatch defeated his sinister plans (Nightwatch #2-10). Justin Morelle, the son of Phillip and Trench's ex, received nanotech arms from the project in the bargain. Nightwatch's costume boosted his strength and durability by triggering his adrenal glands, and nanotechnologically repaired itself.

Its cape responded to his subconscious thoughts to move on its own, and allowed him to glide on air. After he was boosted by the later-generation Morelle technology, the durability of the costume increased, the cape became more metallic, and he had something closer to true flight.

[edit] Death
Nightwatch was an innocent victim of the Great Game. While trying to protect Justin, he was slain by the mercenaries Polestar and El Toro Negro. Polestar used the magnetic powers of his costume to peel away just enough of Trench's nanite costume for El Toro Negro to shoot him point blank in the chest. El Toro Negro then immediately turned on Polestar, shooting him between the eyes.

Nightwatch survived but knew he had been fatally wounded, and used the last of his costume's power to go back and time and try to warn his past self of what would happen, to keep him from meeting this ignoble end, and try to prevent his girlfriend's death in the process. Ultimately, he got sucked into a fight with terrorists and ended up fulfilling the time loop, dying before he could warn himself.

I especially liked Havok's design it was simple

Just wished the belt wrapped all the way around.

Yes but mine is the only costumes that others don't like but you secretly do thread that's under marvel comics:D

WOW 101 views and only one other response than myself...I guess yall are skared to share;)

Cuz we're kinda sick of threads like this.....I've even made a few parody threads. With little success.

Why didn't Mutant X Havok's belt go all the way around? It always looked like he was up for a quickie with the Goblin Queen...

I wouldn't say people hated it but I always loved The Punishers costume from way back when. I hate now how all he has is a jacket and a Skull shirt.

Agree that was classic. To the haters who don't like thread don't read it.

A second ago you were complaining that no one was responding.

And when somebody responded to your query...

Classic Punisher costume > Modern Punisher costume.

Not all the time of course. Just in cases of agile heavy hitters that he'll likely need a bit of extra defense against.

I don't know if it was neccessarily hated, but I LOVED House of M Spiderman's costume. I thought it was sicktastic how the red part on the chest had the spider legs. I wish there'd be a way for it to be used regularly without seeming weird.

Also, the costumes that were used in Bendis' Secret War. Especially Daredevil's and Luke Cage's (though arguably Cage hasn't really had a costume, other than the yellow shirt). Wolverine's was sweet, and Cap's was decent. I liked elements of Spidey's, though I would have done a few things differently. On the whole though, I really liked the design theme in all the suits.

I don't know what the majority verdict is on the suits the F4 started wearing during the Millar/Hitch run, but I for one loved them, and despite what sort of creative team is going into the F4 movie reboot, it couldn't hurt them to use those costume designs.

Darkhawk's still in his usual costume and will be showing up in NOVA, after having two mini's during WAR OF KINGS. His origin's even been tweaked. He's not falling into the void of history like Blackwulf or something.

I would've been with you on Mutant X Havok's costume, but I just recently saw Havok's new outfit in a Realm of Kings preview and it totally works better for his current space pirate activities.

I always liked Steve Rogers 'The Captain' outfit. (The first US Agent costume) The Ben Reilly costume was a terrific modernized Spidey outfit. The only good thing to come out of the clone saga. Too bad it didn't stick around...

The Starjammers hopefully will see some play after they fought in the War of Kings.

I love that group of space pirates, only with Havok and Lorna at the helm they are a bit more interesting. Poor Raza. :(

I love the slight redesign US Agent got for that costume in Mighty Avengers. Making the black star into a gold "badge" is a nice symbolic visual, since John's always been the government hero, more so than Cap himself, who often clashes with the government. I kind of wish they'd give the costume some more military visuals, but every time I try to redesign it myself I wind up with an ugly Ultimates-looking costume.

I see no other way out of it. Time to Cut off your hands.
