Probably true. However, I wanted gold, damnit!
I thought it was black and silver. My mistake. The picture still has dull colors, though. He has tons of gold on him, man. What color do you think that is all across his shoulders? The picture's a step away from being black and white, so it's kinda ridiculous to assume that his costume itself is just black and white.
The costumes look great, particularly Silk Spectre's. I really don't see what the fuss is about Ozymandias and Nite Owl's costumes, they look perfectly fine. Some degree of interpretation is important for the film adaptation, it doesn't have to be spot-on.
If the film is as good as the costumes, then you won't hear people complaining about the "nipples" on Ozymandias anymore.
I'm completely speechless about how it seems more people have taken issue with Ozy's costume then Night Owl's costume. The headgear looks ridiculous with just a couple of horny protrusions sticking out the sides of his head as opposed to a large slender head piece and drape over cape. He resembled an owl to a much greater degree in the comic. Ozy's suit I think is at least passable because its just supposed to be a conglomeration of greek and egyptian styles, which it is.
He never actually "resembled an Owl". He resembled a man in a stylized mask with a "hood" draping behind it. Most owls have fat little heads with "horns" that give them that "hood" look. But the movie helmet's horns stick about as far out from his head as a real owl's does. He's a man with a vague owl motif, not a man trying to look like an owl.
Would people happier if it looked like this???

He looks more like a bat crossed with a man.
....kind of like.....A BATMAN!!!!

That is simply not true. The costumes are very important in the novel as they comment on, and, provide visual clues to 50+ years history of comics and history in general, as a matter of fact. Nite Owl I's costume is obvious homage to The Phantom, as Dollar Bill's is to Superman. Hooded Justice's costume draws visual parallels with Klu Klux Klan's own brand of hooded justice etc.

Well, a) he only wears it for a short period of time (I actually think we only see him with the mask at the Crimebusters meeting.

If a bat had lazy, lopsided ears, sure.
