Let the countdown begin!
5 more days!

It clocks in at 2:30. That's a full blown trailer. Not a teaser.
Captain America profited more from the Super Bowl exposure because they're still riding the hype train and was due out in less than 2 months while GOTG was 6 months out.
Honestly I don't think a 30 second spot to introduce the characters and film for the first time would of been suitable at all. Now a couple of weeks later and we're getting over 2 minutes of footage and for Marvel/Disney they didn't even have to drop a few million.
So weird, they had a much better chance to do it during the Super Bowl yet they showed Captain America teasers instead. Everyone already knows about it. I really can't understand why they passed up on the Super Bowl opportunity to do an online release instead.
Gunn said a 30 second commercial for the first visual of the movie wouldn't do it justice. Makes sense. It also may have been drowned out by, you know, the super bowl and all the other trailers. Releasing it independently leaves all the attention on it and serves it better than having the first thing people see is a 30 second commercial that would probably leave them thinking "wtf is this".So weird, they had a much better chance to do it during the Super Bowl yet they showed Captain America teasers instead.
