Cox HD DVR question

Just got one today, but it beeps at random. As far as I can tell, it isn't alerting me of anything. Has anyone else had this type of problem, and do I simply have a faulty unit?

Oh and BTW, the beeping means the unit is about to EXPLODE!

I have one of their DVRs and it doesn't beep at me at all....ever. Does it have the time on the front or is it still trying to get a signal? Your best bet is to just call their support...sounds like it would be a pretty easy thing for them to figure out. I'm betting either the unit is bad or they haven't turned on your digital signal yet (properly) and it's still searching for it.

The signal is on and operating. The unit has to be bad. I'm taking it back and swapping it today. Thanks.
