Early in December of last year, rumours were doing the rounds claiming that Activision would be giving Crash Team Racing the same treatment they gave the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy by remastering the classic racing game for this gen's consoles.

It wasn't until the 7th of December when Activision finally confirmed that Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled was, indeed, being developed and would be releasing on the 21st of June for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One — with a trailer that perfectly recreated the trailer for the original Crash Team Racing that released in 1999.

Today Activision has released the first gameplay footage for Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, and the game looks just as good as one would expect after seeing the fantastic job that Activision has done comissioning the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy to Vicarious Visions and Spyro Reignited Triogy to Toys for Bob; asking Beenox to help them out with this Crash Team Racing remaster.

Take a look:

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on the 21st of June.

I love that they're remastering the classics. The Crash Bandicoot game, Spyro, Crash Team Racing. Hopefully someone will fix up Timesplitters next. A guy can dream.

Spyro reignited is far better than the N-sane trilogy, in terms of art style and control feel.
On ps1 I preferred Crash

Publisher Activision and developer Beenox have released a new trailer and set of screenshots for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled introducing the game’s customization features.

Here is an overview of the game’s customization features, via Activision:

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will offer players a variety of ways to mix and match kart bodies, wheels, paint jobs, stickers, and even add decals to karts. Now fans—both new and those who first fell in love with the 90s classic—can create a sweet looking ride! What’s more, karts from Crash Tag Team Racing will be available in the new game.

In addition to the ability to customized karts, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will also let players customize their racers. Yes, lead developer Beenox is adding N. sane character skins to the remastered game. This will allow players to adorn their characters with a zany sense of swag and personality—Boo-ya! Also new to the Crash Team Racing experience are unique podium animations available to certain skins making celebrating victories even more amazing. And if that wasn’t enough, characters from Crash Nitro Kart will be available in the new game.

Players will earn customization items by playing through the Adventure Mode and also by collecting in-game Wumpa Coins to swag out their kart and characters in the game’s Pit Stop area. What’s more, character stats, just as you remember are returning and will include Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes. So, whether you are a first-time racer, or a pro eager to put your skills to the test again, the wait is almost over!

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on June 21.

Got it yesterday. They definitely upped the A.I. I tried hard mode... yeah, no way I'll be able to do that. Even Medium mode is a struggle. It took me a good 15-20 tries to beat Sewer Speedway. Ended up having to use Tiny the Tiger to beat it.
