Well, one thing I do know is that James O'Barr has nothing to do with the film series, unless they ask him to become involved. He's said to me regarding the filmmakers, "They barely listened to me during the first one, and didn't bother with the second. With the third I did some artwork, but that was it." He also advised me NOT to see the fourth; we agreed it was a depiction of territory the series was never meant to explore (the same goes for "City of Angels").
As for another film, James has stated that he'd like to see a female Crow as well, but he also doubts the story would be anything he'd approve of. Here's my own personal opinion:
The Crow - The best of the series by far, and that includes the story and characters, not just the Brandon Lee tragedy.
The Crow: City of Angels - Absolutely terrible. The entire film was just chock-full of incredibly-sucky material. The only thing I actually liked was Mia Kirshner, although i don't think Sarah should have been carried over from the first film...big mistake. The rest of the film...no.
The Crow: Salvation - Definitely better than "City of Angels", with an appropriately smaller story and much better characterizations. Eric Mabius shines as the lead role, with Kirsten Dunst and Fred Ward not far behind. Jodi-Lyn O'Feefe's murder flashbacks were so real, they made me cringe and close my eyes sometimes. There were some scenes I did not agree with (especially the overkill of nudity with the Key Club interior shots), but overall a much better effort.
The Crow: Wicked Prayer - Never seen it, and I have no intention to, but I've read enough about it to get a lot of the facts. I'm a mild fan of actors like Danny Trejo, Dennis Hopper, and even Edward Furlong, but this film shouldn't have been done at all. It has no business as part of the Crow series.
