Here is the first version of my Superman Returns suit with the walking cape. The flash from the camera makes the suit alot brighter in color than it actually is, i took the 2nd pic with the flash off. The second version of the suit has the much fuller flying cape, screen accurate belt, super shiney S symbol & the body lines in the suit. I posted some pics of the cape & belt from V2, i will post more when its complete. I offer the most accurate SR suits on the market right now so if you are interested email me at [email protected] Both versions are availible.

That is a cast of my belt costumedfreak. Don't even think of recasting it and offering it to anyone! First it was the bronze armory's pieces you recasted and offered and now mine. I don't believe this.

First off JB im getting tired of your accusations, i can buy whatever i want & use it as i wish. So if i buy something then use it to create suits than i will. The is the USA my friend its a free country! Dont you think this is getting a bit childish? For some time now i havent offered single suit pieces only full suits! What is it with you? Because i cant think of nothing that would send somebody into a wave of hatred for me like this!

I can't believe you are debating me on this. Have you no common sense or respect? It isn't right take credit for another's work. All you're doing is taking my belt that I spent countless hours and money on sculpting, molding, and casting and you are passing it off as your own. It is plain wrong and disgracefull. The only one acting like a child is you. You should know better.

The belts were bought in bulk off a random seller, how in the world was i supposed to know it was yours, you cant be sure that it is unless you have it up close anyway. Look man these are my suits bottom line, if it bothers you that much keep it to yourself because im tired of hearing about it.

Nobody ever perchased these belts in bulk from me so how could you have bought them in bulk? And I can recognise my own work when I see it.

How does telling you that I've never sold a bulk order say it all?? Would you just please own up to your error and not sell/recast my belts?

that is absolute BS man. If you are recasting a piece and the person who sculpted it tells or asks you to stop, you damn well better. In the prop and costume world recasters are frowned uppon, especially people who do it and think its right to make money off of other peoples sweat. Yes this is america and we are free to do things, but we draw thae damn line at taking credit for someone elses work. Just because you payed for a belt doesnt mean you have the right to re-cast it and make money off of it. You would do well not to make enemy's in the prop and costume field. Some of us here go pretty high up in this game, and you dont want to have a bad name amongst us pal. Although, I think we are past that now with your blatant direspect for the prop makers who made you money.

you know, as one of these kind of people myself (star wars costumes) when we sell items made off of movies we are really illegally copying DC Comics.

so who really can point fingers?

true, its more of an ethical matter then a legal one. I mean I understand JBrown's frustration. On the other hand costumedfreak DID have to make a mold of the belt, than pour the latex, make sure there's no bubble, get the color right...there is work involved in all of that. Therefore the money he earns is not completely unjustified...To me its not so much what he's doing but how he's doing it that's wrong: one should never denie his source material. Its like in manips. You can use someone else's, but mention where you got it. It's respect.

I can see both of your points and I agree about the legality issue. But I don't condone recasting at all because it is taking the easy way out. Making a mold and pouring latex/urethane takes no where near as much craft as making the initial sculpt.

well, I do say it is wrong to recast someone elses stuff and mass sell it. although if you buy something from someone, you have no idea where they got it from before they sold it to you, and its not your problem

This is by far my favorite costume that i have! The symbols & cape are made from strong flock material, not the flimsy patches & cloth floating around, its made just the like the screen version with the trunks attached to the upper suit. Ill post better pics with the suit fitted better on the mannequin when the boots are done!
