Cyclops fans we lost, my 2 cents

OK i dont post alot, but i've been following this hole thing since word of his death leaked. I was not a big fan of the character nor do i read the comics just liked the movies & the 90s cartoon, but when i heard that they was actually going to kill him & so early in the movie i couldnt belive it. I thought surely they would change this after the fan backlash, hell who didnt, but thats not going to happen. If they had to kill him, it shouldve been at the end & when jean dies. But anyway yes fox screwed up, they couldve waited & made a really great movie but they didnt. Now i will not go see the movie, will it matter..............no. But i wont waste my money to see this great screw up. I hope the movie fails but it wont. If one good thing has come out of this for me its made me like the character more & im thinking about gettin some tpbs .Now this is just my opinion & wether it matters are not, i just felt like saying somthing. At least everyone tried to get their voices heard.

No, I think this deserves it's own thread. We got screwed over and lied to. The AICN leaked script was 100% correct, dispite all the whining of the producers, that it was not the same script.

If they had Scott die heroically, that's one thing. Having him go out like a little b*tch, is totally unacceptable.

No, it's pretty much inevitable. I believe these guys did see the movie. The two book versions, the movie, the AICN leaked script. They all say the same thing.

yea i think it would have. i mean, from what i've seen (previews, 7 min special) it seems like wolverine was given scott's role. cyclops should be the one holding jean when she says "please...kill me" and he should be the one to connect w/ her mentally. kind of frustrated about this. i could have dealt w/ the fact that the majority of people who aren't real fans but are familiar w/ x-men love wolverine so he gets huge parts and cyke is minimized, but killing him off? that leaves lots of hope and is true to the comics. i am not a happy camper.

I for one am glad that they killed him off. In actuality I am glad for many reasons, and some may not be what you think.

First of all I am going to say that I personaly don't like the character, and think that he is the ONE character that the majority of an audience want to see dead. So if he is killed and the story still remains as good as it apears, than I as an X-fan, will be happy.

On another note, I think that there may be a specific reason for his "death". In the old X-Factor comic books, I was under the impression that a good deal of the X-factor memebers were believed to be dead, and if this is so, it explains alot. Now while I don't like the character, I would LOVE to see his death played out in this way, and possibly see an X-Factor spin off. I think it would be a brilliant, money making, idea!

No you're in the minority here dude. Sorry but Cyke has always been the leader of the X-men, not Wolverine. And while I admit, Wolverine is the most popular X-men character, making him a responsible leader is a bastardization of the character.

Cyke is an original team member and should not die. He is the creation of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. That's like the Fantastic Four killing off Reed Richards. It should not happen.
