Anyone else getting sick of the bad humor? These movies under Raimi seem to have a hard time taking themselves seriously. I'd like to see them taking a more serious approach. Leave all the humor to Spidey's wise cracks, not Hoffman's bad pitches(in fact get rid of Hoffman!) or JJJ having to take pills, or JK Simmons having to buy a camera from Raimi's daughter for 100 bucks.

agreed. There's only two places I really want to see humor:

1) Spider-Man's wise cracks.
2) Humorous moments of Spidey interacting with New Yorkers (see JMS's Amazing run...he was an ace at that).

i'm fine with the humour and don't get the hate. i don't think it's bad. it creates a fun ambience that helps make these films endearing and re-watchable.

raimi's cheesball humor is for these movies are AWESOME.

I am, however, getting sick of the crapping on raimi threads you seem to love though dacman.

How many Raimi bash threads are you going to make??? Really:dry:

I like the humor, as mothy said, it creates a fun atmosphere.

Campbell's cameo was one of the few shining lights in Spidey 3... as was J.K Simmons who's been consistant over the three. In fact Campbell's been consistenet as well...

I really like the Bugle scenes and jk simmons has been great . The only time I thought it was not necessary was during the final fight in SM3. Also Raimi's kids doing a cameo and Spider-man stopping to pose with the American flag.

I do not mind Hoffman (as long as it is limited and a playoff against JJ), and I certainly LOVE JJ's role in all 3 movies, with one possible exception, as you noted.

The buying the camera from the kid (Raimi's daughter?? seriously? wow.. talk about Nepitism) "DURING" *sheesh* the Climatic Battle (as climatic as that TERRIBLE battle was.

Add to that the Stupid reporters DURING the Climatic Battle

THAT.. is where Raimi NEEDS to be serious. Like the ending battle in SM1. Awesome, with the only exception of Dafoe's Add Libing (should have been CUT Raimi).

Humor, from JJ (even with Hoffman), and from Spidey (at NON DRAMATIC FINAL Battles) is all fine and good. Added Quips from Spidey (more sides to himself... GOOOOOOD.

JJ and some Smuck Kid (Anytime.. ) but espically during the "climatic" final scene... BAAAAAD

Leave the DAMN NY'ers out of the DAMN final battle also. AND.. if you have extras (NY'ers) in any battle.. make it like in SM2... During the Doc Ock cafe scene.. WHERE they are ONLY trying to get their ass out of danger's way...

YOU KNOW.. Raimi.. SERIOUSNESS/REALISM.. Not "Cheese"

Oh man.. GOOD POINT. Thanks for reminding me of my other Pet Peeve. NO DAMN American Flag for Spidey to land in front of or swing in front of. TALK ABOUT YOUR CHEESE Factor going OFF the damn Scale.

Great point!

I agree 100%. Number 2 is basically number 1 though. His interactions with New Yorkers and such. I would love to see something like that in 4. In fact I'd love to see anything JMS in Spidey 4. He wrote Spidey perfectly. I would kill to see a Morlun story line done in a Spidey movie.

Nepitism! I never heard of that word. I just looked it up. That is EXACTLY what he does in all three films. Even more so in the third. He needs to knock that off. I'm glad they have a word for it because I could never put my finger on exactly what it was that ticked me off about him doing that. That word lays it out perfectly.

So we have his two brothers, daughter, son, nephew, niece(though she got cut from the first) AND his old car. That's insane.

It's not nepotism. Nepotism would be him giving parts to family members which are beyond their abilities purely because they're family members.

Hoffman isn't beyond his abilities... in fact its the kind of role he's been given (and is largely typecast for, going by his past works).

Its minor cameos given to the director's family members, where honestly I don't think they did too bad a job. And the car thing is something he's done a lot... a lot of director's have similar things they do down those lines.

I mean, you don't hear folk chewing out Kevin Smith when he does the same thing in his films...

That's because there are only two kinds of people that watch Kevin Smith movies. People with poor taste, and people who are being forced to watch them right now, in hell.

Ill be really upset if JK simmons doesnt return and Hoffman doesnt do his antics. They make a great comedy pair.

I love their humour.

BTW I say...recast Ernie Hudson as Robbie.

the humor should be limited to the wisecracks and interactions with Bruce Campbell

holy crap yes!

i don't mind the humor too much but i wish they would go darker i mean darker than the last movie

You don't think it's wearing pretty thin after 3 films? And I really think people will look back at these films as the corny, goofball Spider-Man films like we do the other Bat films after they relaunch with a team that take Spidey seriously.

then again, spidey has always been campy, even at the darkest times, it had cheese. Batman, on the other hand, has pretty much always been dark.

Yes and No. I think most of the humour in 3 was over the top. Including scenes with Jameson and Hoffman. 2s humour was fine.

I just hope Sam takes this movie seriously

1) No more corny camera choices. (the part where Black Suited Spidey wreaks the pipes to wash Sandman. Where the cameras cuts too the bolts popping off and then back to Sandmans constipated expression repeatedly)
2) No more corny crowd cheers "Alright, Spidey!" and then everybody marvels at him. The part where MJ leaves the theatre after being fired and she thinks everybody's clapping for her, that was a stupid scene.
3) No more Spider-Man 60s cartoon theme.
4) No more corny **** from the villains
"I will rule the world and enslave mankind". That was never said, but still.

I like Hoffman. I didn't in the beginning, but I learnt to. Jameson works well with him.

The only attempt at humor that I didn't like so far was Jameson buying a camera from Raimi's daughter.

How many kids does he have? lol. Im sick of kid actors ruining the scene, lol. (especially the crews kids)

Me too. I know there's the camera kid, the awesome! kid and the wicked cool! kid.
