Revelation regarding Rey part in the Skywalker lineage should be revealed in this film.

Star Wars to return to Kerry - official

Filming for Star Wars VIII will take place in Dingle in April of 2016 and it is also expected that the cast and crew will also return to Skellig Michael.

Producer Kathleen Kennedy confirmed publicly for the first time last week that Star Wars will be back for more filming in Kerry.

In an interview with Expose, she said the film will 'continue' to use Skellig, which appears at the climax of the current film and appears to open the way for an appearance at the beginning of the next Star Wars film, due in 2017..

"We'll continue to use Skellig. Skellig is absolutely beautiful and you know the extraordinary thing which just shows you the force was working in Ireland is that it was sunny and beautiful both times we shot there," the producer said.

"We're going to be near Dingle and Skellig again."

Making Star Wars - STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII AHCH-TO FILMING IN APRIL?

Rey's gonna get her ass kicked by Kylo Ren.

Probably, and I'd be fine with that. On another note, From the concept art book for TFA:

I liked the idea of Rey having to dive underwater to scavenge something. I also think the idea of her and Luke searching for some sort of force artifact could be cool if done right. Now that she's on a water world with Luke that hosts the very first Jedi Temple, I can see her having to dive deep down there somewhere at some point to recover an ancient Jedi artifact that Luke needs to help him better channel his force sensitivity to unravel a mystery of some kind. Maybe who Snoke is and where he came from?

It'd be cool to see some of those concepts used in this movie. Also I wonder if she and Luke will butt heads over what to do about Kylo (if Luke holds true to his OT-form and refuses to give up completely on Ben that is)? It could be interesting to see.

The Map Was Hidden Inside the Death Star, Now Submerged Under Water
One early idea had a piece of the second Death Star submerged underwater on this junk planet, with Rey going on an adventure to scavenge goods from the old space station. One piece of concept art shows her diving, swimming through the Death Star’s trench. She would find a hidden map inside the Emperor’s tower that would tell us where the Jedi are and where Luke is hiding. Later concept art shows Rey taking the Millennium Falcon underwater to find the Emperor’s chamber submerged deep underwater.

Lots of water on Ach-to.

And it give her a chance to use her scavenging skills in a different kind of way, while also making them relevant to the overall plot.

Also, I still like the idea of Kylo deliberately scarring her face up in a similar way to how she scarred his in TFA.

I hope Rey doesn't spend more than the first act or part of the first act on Ach-To.

I'd also like to see her in a space battle with the Millennium Falcon or an X-wing at some point, too.

It would also be a good idea for Rey to spend some time with Poe.

Agreed. If you look at some of their social media posts, or the BTS stuff, Daisy and Oscar also have really good natural chemistry with each other. And all three of them do as well (Oscar is apparently become kind of like a "big brother" to her and John Boyega from what I've heard). So Rey, Finn, AND Poe should get scenes together as a group.

And I think that people who are expecting an ESB-style thing where Luke and Rey spend most of the movie off on their own, might be surprised. Because this is actually quite a different situation:

-There was never a "we need to find Yoda and bring him back to help out The Rebellion" thing like there is with Luke.

-TFA made a BIG deal of Rey and Finn's bond and how they grow together. I'd argue that they're even closer than the Big Three were at the end of ANH/beginning of ESB (not a complaint BTW, merely an observation). So, while I expect them to be apart for at least the first part of the next film, them spending MOST of all of the movie apart would feel rather weird to me.

-One of the most praised elements on TFA was how well the actors played off of each other, and I can totally see Disney/LF wanting more of those dynamics.

I am in the minority of Rey spending some decent amount of time with Poe. I was...hoping for at least a scene of introduction between the two but I hope the next two films make up for that. Can't wait...

Oh...all these spoilers and stuff...I want more but I know I shouldn't. :(

You're not in the minority at all. The big trio needs to get some time to develop some form of relationship.

It IS interesting that Rey isn't necessarily a full member of the Resistance, like Luke was with the Rebellion by ANH's end.

BB-8 ended up being Rey's buddy instead of Poe for about half the movie.

But now Rey and her new buddy BB-8 are apart. :csad:

R2 is still Luke's buddy. Poe must share BB-8 with Rey for happiness. :yay:

Is the opening shot of VIII, Rey handing Luke the lightsabre again? What's the opening crawl then? The wiki plot of TFA?

Ep8, Rey and Poe hook up. Ep9, they split up and fight for BB's custody.

Probably, yeah. And maybe a hint to whoever Benicio Del Toro's villain is.

"… meanwhile The Knights of Ren regroup for their retaliation…"

I have trouble seeing Rey, Finn and Poe as the "big three" at this stage when Rey and Poe never interacted in TFA. It's more like a couple of duos - Rey and Finn, Finn and Poe - which have been treated as completely separate, with completely different dynamics.

Also, I suspect that Rey might spend a significant part of the movie separated from Finn, because looking at the state of Luke that man has some major issues to deal with before he budges from his island.

See I don't know that she will. I think that a lot of people think that, because of ESB. But one of the most praised elements about TFA was the dynamic between Rey/Finn and I feel like Disney would want to capitalize on that. And the movie set them up to be much closer/more attached than Luke/Han/Leia were at the end of ANH/ESB, so it'd be weird to them have them spend most of the next movie apart. The first part of it sure, but I'm not sure that it won't be much shorter than many people think.

And as for Poe, I think that the plans for his character have changed quite a bit. He goes from dying 20 minutes into the movie, to surviving, to getting more screentime next time, to getting his own ongoing comic book series, etc. So I think that his role will be expanding moving forward.

The big new 3 are Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren.

The big new 3 heroes are Rey, Finn, and Poe.

That's basically what happened.

Magnar....Have I seen you around on another message forum? I swear, I keep thinking I've seen ur name somewhere else before.... lols. If not...my mistake.
