Ant-Man Dammit, Janet! The official Wasp thread

She wasn't wearing pants. And the Ant-Man was in somewhere else.

Well fortunately it's not an X-Men movie involving sausages and Yorkshire pudding, otherwise you might get Toad in the hole. :p

I don't care what anyone says it's obviously Janet.

I think it's either Janet or Jessica Jones honestly.

if it were another director, I might more readily accept the random speculations about Jessica jones, Jessica drew, etc. but Wright just doesn't seem the type to go out of his way to include characters that have nothing to do with Pym particles or Pym's history, at the moment. I could maybe see him creating a brand new female character. but there just wouldn't be any point to it with Janet Van Dyne already so heavily associated with the Pym "family." there's nothing cleaner/simpler than just having Jan as Pym's daughter (adopted or genetic). it requires less introduction than having some private investigator (Jessica Jones) show up to be a love interest for a character she's not involved with in the books.

I'm thinking Janet, although I do see the possibility of her being Jessica.

whomever it is, i wish that they'd make it official; like they did with Vision.

Vision has not been officially announced by Marvel, but should be soon. Same goes for the female lead for this flick, whether it's Janet or Erica Sondheim.

i've been watching these Evangeline talk show interviews. and i'm genuinely surprised that she wasn't the first person that was sought for the Wasp role. her sense of humor, voice, height, everything is just prototypical Janet Van Dyne (at least the one from the animated series). hated her on Lost. but i'm confident that she'll be excellent in the Ant-Man movie; if they are smart enough to use Janet.

She wouldn't make sense as Jessica Drew in an Ant-Man movie. What connection does she have to that character? Like, ever?

Just watched her Dec 2013 interview with Craig Ferguson where she wasn't wearing a bra. I think she could work as Janet definitely. She has more of her personality than Jessica Drew, and is more of the correct height as well.

Yeah, I don't see Jessica Drew (or even Jessica Jones, as other people seem to fancast her) as being even remotely likely. Their stories are not Pym and Lang's stories.

Fellow arthropods.

I'm semi-serious about that, actually. It would be a good way to soft-pedal the introduction of Jessica Drew without bringing up (as many) questions among the general audience about why there's a Spider Woman in the Avengers without Spider Man.

She is wonderful. Thank you, Canada.

yeah, that's the one I watched before posting. she likes to toy with people. it reminded me of how Jan was always playfully flirting with the other Avengers in front of Hank.

not in a million years would Edgar Wright put that much effort into introducing a character that he can't really use. it's a different science that you're talking about. this movie is dealing with Pym particles; not gene splicing. that's why there has been no talk of the Wasp being in it.

And thank you, United States, for Lindsay Lo.... I mean, Lady Ga.... I mean, Amanda Byn.... damn, you guys suck! :argh:
While I love all three ladies for different reasons, Lady Gaga does not deserve to be included in this assessment. :o

Still, it would be nice to spend an evening with a woman without the statistical probability of you being chained up in Andy Dick's sex dungeon.

i wonder if Michael Douglas could talk Catherine Zeta-Jones into making a cameo appearance as proto-Wasp. i could buy Evangeline Lilly as the combination of those two.
