"Dance Flick" - It Never Ends...

Weren't the Wayans also responsible for Little Man and White Chicks?

i didnt watch those movies simply because it was one of those movies that they kept playing the trailer with every single movie that i eventualy got sick of it... then starting hating it

much like that movie The Game Plan..with the rock

I had to suffer through The Game Plan :csad: At least it was a free screening, but I wish I could have my time back :csad:

LMAO @the scene were she puts the baby in the locker! They're making fun of Save the Last Dance, the movie that made studios give us all these terrible dance films and in essence has created a genre (although I must admit Save the Last Dance wasn't as bad as I thought. I actually thought it was a good film...but every other dance movie has been laughably bad!)

...and the same is happening for spoof movies unfortunately, the best spoof ever was Naked Gun

I laughed my ass off in the part where he was gonna kiss the girl :lmao:

That's Damon Wayans Jr. I think, glad to see he's having his turn  Movie doesn't look bad like those other "1 week to finish the script" movies with the same casts.

I have to admit, that trailer actually made me laugh several times, unlike all the other ______ Movie's. :o

I love Essence Watkins.

Haha, this one seems to be more back to the original spoof type things they should do, and aren't just Family Guy-ish parodies.

The main thing that this has going for it over the the "____ Movies" is that it actually has a story it's trying to tell, around the jokes.

I see there are others who feel the way I do. This movie doesn't look like it's going to be especially funny, but at least it looks like it has a plot, not to mention jokes better thought out than "let's show a scene from other movies' trailers, then put a boob or prat fall in it."

The Wayans family usually isn't too bad with spoof films (Don't Be A Menace, the first 2 Scary Movies), so I might movie-hop or rent this one.

It's funny that the first trailer for the movie said it'd be coming out Feb. 6th right? It got delayed more than 3 months :hehe: I had been wondering where the heck that movie was in theaters or if it came and went already *whoosh* :funny:

The only reason I find this tolerable is because those stupid dance movies need to be spoofed.

White Chicks had its moments. The big black guy techno dancing was hilarious :D

Well, Terry Crews is just great at comedy. He knows how to sell even a mediocre joke and make it work better than you'd expect.

I'll probably go see this after Terminator. I like the Wayans, they can be clever when they want to, so I'll actually pay for the ticket as opposed to sneaking in.

im guessing that this movie will make at most $10 million opening weekend

Ah well, at least it's being written by the Wayans (whom I have a soft spot for) and those not other two guys. Honestly, the trailer made me laugh a few times.

This one doesn't interest me since I don't care for Dance films even though I know this movie is making fun of them.

At least it's the Wayans that made this, even though their spoof films aren't as great as Mel Brooks films or other spoofs like Airplane, there still a lot better than those other films like Meet the Spartans.

They usually stick to a main story and work their jokes around it like it should be done. Not just throw in as many celebrities and pop culture references as possible.

It's times like this I wish Mel Brooks wasn't older than dirt, Gene Wilder wasn't falling apart at the seams, and the rest of Mel's usual players (Dom DeLuise, Harvey Korman, Madeline Kahn, Ron Carey) weren't dead. Cloris Leachman is still alive and kicking ass, though.

I have to admit, I did chuckle a bit when I saw the trailer on television, but I don't understand why they continue to make these sort of movies. Is there really a huge audience for them?

I miss Gene Wilder. :(

And that's the truth...with some cheese on it.

At least it's a Wayans brothers movie. That still isn't saying much though.
