Daniel Sunjata is in talks to play a special forces operative, while Diego Klattenhoff has been offered the part of a rookie cop. Burn Gorman is also being eyed for a supporting role.

With all these characters being announced, it's easy to forget that a the GPD is on the hunt for Batman. With Gary Oldman's comments about having a lot to do with Tom Hardy, do you think Bane could be brought in by the police to help bring Batman down?

I thought Treat Williams said it was unlikely he would be able to take the role?

Treat Williams had to turn the role down due to other commitments.

Bane could be a cop that becomes obsessed with bringing The Batman down, thus he gets involved with Venom, and creates another villain with a secret identity. Just thinking out loud at this point, the good times are coming folks!!

This is going to be awesome !

I like that!

Hmmm I like that they're expanding the GCPD. I loved Ramierz and Stephens in TDK. I hope they are back, too.

Oh no! This movie is getting way too packed. Nolan won't be able to tackle so many characters. The movie is doomed surely.

Ramirez is part responsible for Rachel's death.

I don't want her back.

Isn't that a good reason for why she should come back? She's also possibly the only surviving witness to Harvey's rampage other than Gordon and his family, and Batman of course.

I agree. Would create an interesting dynamic there with her and Gordon.

Wow two "Rescue Me" cast members in two big comic book movies next year and both playing cops. I'm talking about of course Daniel Sunjata, who's also great in Rescue Me. And the other actor in case you were wondering is of course Rescue Me's lead Denis Leary in the upcoming Spidey reboot. The casting for TDKR gets more and more interesting than the casting for MOS, imo. No offense to those who disagree.

:funny:

But you know, that Lifetime show was clearly much more important...

It's just as important as that movie with Queen Latifah that Katie "chose over" TDK. :woot:

I don't watch Rescue Me, is Sunjata a good actor?

I haven't followed his work apart from Rescue Me. So I'll just say I thought he was pretty good in Rescue Me. I found him to be convincing as firefighter with some issues. So I think can buy him as a Gotham City cop. I like that Nolan always looks outside the box and hire actors that aren't flavor of the months (except for Holmes), but actors you wouldn't expect to see playing in a movie like Batman. Actors who actually care about their craft.

Same here. From seeing him in Rescue Me I think he'll do a pretty good job.

The only thing I've seen him in is The Devil Wears Prada, and he was pretty good as a jackass in that.

Why do I get the feeling that this news, coupled with Oldmans remarks about doing a lot with Hardy on this film, that Bane is going to be leading this special force team?

Bane's not gonna be a cop. You heard it here first. :o

It would make sense. I wouldn't mind if that were the case. We'll have to wait and see :)

Bane wont be a cop but I wouldnt be surprised if he at some point is relied on to hunt Batman while having his own secret motivation to take down Batman.

When Oldman initially said that him and Hardy have alot of time together I immediately thought of the "Over The Edge" animated episode in which Gordon releases Bane from Arkham to hunt down a fugitive Batman. I just cant see Bane being "hired" by the GCPD in any way.

Oh he'll be relied on to hunt Batman, but not by the cops. :o
