Just add Ben Foster as Bullseye and you have a great cast.

I would save him for the sequel. So there's more time to develop his character. I would want the first film to be more about the kingpin and matt murdock relationship. the second would be about daredevil vs. bullseye.

I really love your ideas, except im not so sure about Winstone... Im not sure were but i can vaguely remember seeing him play american in something and being shocked at how bad his accent was.

He's great but if Bullseye is in the film I would like Statham to play him. It was so funny to me when people considered him as Daredevil when he is more of a one dimensional villain or a lead in a Guy Ritchie movie. That's all he'll ever be to me. I still can't believe the Transporter made 3 movies and RIddick finished at two...
Though David Thowy and Vin Diesel want to make more Riddick movies, it seems unlikely...I want a hardcore escape from prison Riddick movie a hard R.

The Departed when he played a Boston mobster henchmen. Or his Indiana Jones character? If it shocked you then it was probably the second one.

For me, the perfect casting for MM:DD is Guy Pearce. he has the perfect mouth/chin for Dd , he has a sinewy/athletic physique [not an affleck-flabby one!], and he's a very good actor. For him to play a hero, just watch 'count of monte cristo' where he played the villain to see what a dark edge he could bring to the part. he's a good physical actor that would provide that grace of movement that DD should have instead of the clumsy,affleck-like lumbering.my 2 cents.

I can't help thinking that the DC might not have been as well loved if it had been the theatrical cut.

Agreed. Maybe there are less plotholes and the pacing is slightly better, but the directing, the dialogue, the scenes, the action scenes - STUPID. They're all stupid. It's a stupid film, which also takes itself too seriously for how stupid it is. Did I mention... stupid? :woot:

I never even realised that Michael C. Hall was in the Affleck starrer 'Paycheck':-

Funny how things work out - I hope Affleck didnt say anything bad about his experience playing D/D that might put MCH off taking the role (should he ever be offered it).
IIRC Affleck badmouthed the movie after the critics didn't love it. He basically is never going to take another super hero role because of it.

It would be awful though if MCD is talked out about returning. He was great in the role.

Publicly. It would have bee pretty stupid if he came out of the premiere calling it a piece of crap. He would have been like Snipes and all his STV rental counter fodder.

I'm sorry. The whole project was a farce. DD kills a guy in the first sequence of the movie. That was a travesty! The Kingpin killed his father?! The playground sequence!? He has super senses but he can't detect Elektra in the roof top sequence? They establish him as a lawyer but completely ignore that aspect of the character?

Just too much wasted potential. The church sequence was the only worthwhile part of the whole movie.

The Daredevil/Matt Murdock I know would do everything possible not to take a life. He went to great lengths to protect his identity and wouldn't risk flashy shows of acrobatics as Matt Murdock. His powers in addition to sonar include super senses that allow him to detect lies, track via smell like a bloodhound, read print through touch. Hardly any of which were addressed in the film. The story made him a thug with bat senses.

Marvel needs to buy back the rights and reboot it.

Some of that stuff is in the DC.

Its used it as filler though. like, oh look what he can do, and then cut to ridiculous soundtrack music or pointless action sequence. The movie needs to develop the character of matt murdock first. It shouldnt be that hard, a blind lawyer in hells kitchen taking on organized crime. you've got a great story without the superpowers.

Yeah, the courtroom stuff in the DC is pretty lackluster. It lacks a lot of the intelligence that was found in TDK. MSJ clearly felt obligated to include a case for Matt Murdock, but was obviously more interested (and able) in showing DD kicking butt.

He did do it publicly.

Not sure how long after the movie was released but Affleck has said a few times to the press that he loathes the movie IIRC.

Yeah thats what I said. But I dont think he waited for critics and so on. I think he waited for a certain amount of time to pass so that he can voice his opinion without consequence. Affleck used to be very vocal but his likes and dislikes about Hollywood, but KEvin Smith has said he has given up on that because his career (he thinks anyways) depends partly on his tact.

Kevin Bacon in a perfect world would be Hank Pym.

But Michael C. hall as Matt Murdock/Daredevil= Perfection. Ditch the full fetish leather gimp suit for a leather and cloth mix, along with playing up his powers and Stick's Ninja training, and you get a decent Daredevil film.

I can totally see Bacon hitting his wife (in a movie)

Bacon can play brainy sleezeballs quite well, ever see Hollow Man?

Michael C. Hall has a damn good athletic presence on Dexter, he should be able to play off the whole ninja deal without looking like a glossy CG double.
