Daredevil: Revival

ok, I'm a really really big fan of daredevil, and I thought the movie was great, but everybody else didn't, I also can't see anyone else besides ben playing the role (i'm insane, i'm aware of it), so I just wanted to know from my fellow hypers if they were to do a remake or whatever who should play the role?

I like keeping the same actors...whether the next film was a revival or sequal...so Ben.

i would wet my pants at another DD film (that wasn't raped by the studio). and i totally agree with you on Ben...i thought he did a great job and can't think of anyone else for the part.

if they were to do a complete restart on DD, i'd want that rumor i heard years ago to come true and have David Fincher direct with Edward Norton as Matt Murdock/Daredevil.

Ben did a good (though not excellent) job in Daredevil, but he said he never would be in any comic movies and hated being in spandex. So don't expect him to reprise the role in Daredevil 2.

I say get someone younger for the second one, though Kingpin could still be the same actor.

I enjoyed the DD movie myself. I thought Ben did okay with what was given to him. I personally didn't like jennifer(she was okay),and her character Elektra. I didn't think she fit in the story. I like a handful of others would of liked them to have concentrated on Bullseye and Kingpin story line.
I don't forsee a sequel anytime soon,as I think Ben doesn't want to do another one. He did a 180 on his take of DD. He said he do another one if it was a darker movie,then just recently he said he was embarresed to wear the suit..

I thought the theatrical cut of DD was ok, but the DC is great. Both versions, however, make Matt look like a bad lawyer when he threatens Quesada in front of the judge and jury, plus when his story differs from his clients he seems to just say "darn, well that didn't work." Also, he shouldn't have let Quesada die, his death should have been an accident. Ben was good in the role, and I would enjoy him if he came back, but I think we are done with Elektra. We have seen her story, now lets move on.

I would prefer to see a sequel as opposed to a reboot. I think they could go many different directions with the next sequel.

1- There is a scramble by several crime bosses to become the next Kingpin, with DD stuck in the middle. I would have Fisk take back his title at the end if this was done.

2- Fisk gets out of prison, and knowing Matt's secret, decides to ruin his life (Born Again). This would also work as a sequel to idea #1.

3- This is one I thought up a few days ago. Start it with a seemingly cameo appearance by Mysterio. Then, when the story gets started, we have a movie based on Guardian Devil. At the end of the movie, Mysterio is revealed to be the mastermind behind the plot that was intended to drive Matt to insanity. We learn he shared a prison cell with Fisk, and Fisk told him everything, since he found his plan interesting. Pretty much Guardian Devil from there.

I would be fine with either plot for the next one.

Matt Damon as daredevil??? What are you thinking? I think he should play Captain America instead....my personal preference....I liked Ben's take on the role but the only thing that took it down was the complete ignorance of the casting job...colin farrell was cool but I don't think I like bullseye as a bald biker with a brand on his forhead, which you could totally tell was fake. Michael Clarke Duncan was a pretty good kingpin...there's not alot of big actors out there that could do that role. But jen garner as elektra....i could've done without...

yeah i'm with you on the jennifer garner aspect. For me Aflec's acting was very stiff. I really think he is just a mediocre actor. Bullseye needed a costume. Why give daredevil one if you won't give one to bullseye! But good call on Damon for Cap. I like it. I take back my casting of him for the devil. One more thing. I was ticked off that the first person that daredevil came up against was killed. Daredevil does not kill.

Though Ben Aflec is a credible actor i think he was totally wrong to play daredevil his build is completely of from the slim athelete build i remember from the comics.

I thought Ben was good as DD.
The DC of the film was MUCH better then the TC.
I think they should do a straight sequel and make it dark and gritty, more like the DC.
Not the Family Audience TC.

Theatrical cut was so-so, but I liked the Director's cut. All of a sudden, the movie made actual sense.


As for my fav scene, definitely the bar fight from the DC.

Just one tough mofo beating the s*** out of bad guys without playing on God Mode. Good stuff.

Wow. It is scary how close to the exact same thing I was thinking.

Sorry to all of you DD movie fans but the film blew goat and Ben as DD is stiff and one dimensional. The franchise needs a reboot like they did with Batman. They can start will a good script, good actors and a costume department that is not lead by ******ed, blind chimps.

I thought the movie [Theatrical version was fun...until X2 came out... then I thought it was ok -> suck... but I waited and got the Director's cut n I have to admit that was a genuinely good movie.
I'd love to see a sequel... specially since they already set everything up.
