Here is a season two review for Daredevil.

http://geeklyng.net/exclusive-daredevil-season-two-review/

First off, ONE, I was the writer of this (the grammar isn't perfect, so get over it) and I can swear by the validity of this review (proof and otherwise).

Secondly, I will HAPPILY answer questions, but will NOT spoil anything (as per disclosure agreement and thread topic).

I hope you enjoy the review and hope to answer some of your questions!

Lol I read this earlier. Good review it got my more hyped for the season.

I'm curious does the direction of the show reach the cinematic levels that the 1st season reached with episodes 2, Kingpins Backstory, or even the first episode? Like is the show better visually and camera work.

You all will freak out when you see this new season and Frank Castle. It's that good.

Vile One was nice enough to let us know that the new cowl/costume comes in within the first 7 eps.

Don't suppose you could tell us which ep specifically? :P

None of the reviews I have read have mentioned the new costume, which is odd to me.

Do you mean the "new" costume with the black accents in the marketing or is there supposed to be another change midway through the season?

I appreciate it. Again, I couldn't go too spoilery. Believe me, I wanted to.

Subjective question. I would say, yes, I believe it does. Again, as I stated in the review, some scenes have that long burn feel, the whole, lets goooooo feeling that season one occasionally had.

Visually though, everything is top notch. It looks better than most films I've seen today. The rooftop scene (Daredevil tied down), which really isn't necessarily a scene but an episode, might be my favorite one of the bunch.

Agreed.

The new costume DOES come in the first 7 episodes. It's a helmet/cowl and new gloves. Not going to go into details WHY that happens, but it happens relatively quickly. I really, REALLY like the new cowl.

I think most reviews don't refer to it because one, it doesn't change too much and two, it's not THAT important.

The costume does have a change. It isn't extensive but I think enough people *****ed about the first season cowl that they felt the need to modify it. This one feels more 'traditional'.

Thanks, man.

It's important to me given how unpleasant looking the old cowl was in episode 13.

If I'm to be completely honest, there is quite a few shots and it looks fantastic.

I like it there.

His new one looks more like Affleck's...and not in a bad way.

I think the new cowl makes the whole costume one of the best in superhero tv. IMO with a DD in the chest it could stand even in a movie.

I hate it there :P

But to each his own.

The lighting certainly helps a lot. I think they way they frame the suit in some shots helps it. I don't think they ever got that right in the first season.

Completely agree.

I read an review online mentioning that S2 shows much more violences and more hardcore R rated scenes, is that true? alot of it comes from the punisher I assume?

Out of both of the seasons, the most brutal, violent, disgusting thing I saw was The Kingpin bashing the dude's skull in the door. If you handled that, you should be okay.

As for violence, I'd say it is pretty consistent, with maybe 2-3 cringe worthy moments (I think two of these literally happen within 10 minutes of each other).

Yeah, A LOT of people die, a lot of people get shot up. The fight sequences feature a lot of punching, blood, things like that. I don't remember any over the top bone breaking moments.

I'd say, for as BAD as it could be, it really isn't.

The WORST part I remember...MILD SPOILER someone (not saying who) takes a drill/drill bit to the foot. If you've ever used a drill bit, to drill in wood, and watched wood kinda like spin out underneath the drill bit...yeah, that happens to a person's foot.

Again, feel free to ask any questions! :)

Oh, and there is a sex scene (featured in the trailer). However, it isn't anything worthy of note. No nudity and it is pretty brief (under 30 seconds, from my recollection).

Are there any references to the events of Jessica Jones and/or other MCU films?

That might sound unusual but did Phil Abraham direct the first two episodes?

Before I answer, I absolutely love Yvonne. Ugh. So amazing. Anywhoooooooooo...

Everything will be in spoiler tags, but not really considered 'spoiler'.

In regards to Jessica Jones:
I'd say a handful of references. Some out and out say Jessica Jones, others are that kind of 'wink wink' humor I'd expect from Arrow.

Rest of MCU:
All I will say is that there are DEFINITE. DEFINITE building blocks to the events of Civil War...that's all I will say in regards to that. You don't see it, or realize it in the first few episodes...and then all of a sudden...light bulb...and no, it isn't HEY EVERYONE..THIS SUMMER...CIVIL WAR...nothing like that.

Thank you for answering my question, I personally don't mind more violences and bloody scene especially from punisher.

Punisher is suppose to be really brutal when it comes to taking down criminal, I would like to see that being accurately portrayed in the tv series :)

It reminded me a lot of like...RoboCop violence. RoboCop mixed with like...John Wick? Intense. Quick. The action sequences are truly spectacular.

not sure if this is too much of an spoiler; DD is a much better hand to hand fighter than punisher right? is that how it is in the tv show?

being a big fan of comics, punisher doesn't even come close, fighting wise.

Just in case, again, not too spoilerific but people are sensitive about this stuff.

Yes....and no. The first episode they do have a fight (somewhat short) and my interpretation of it was that Matt underestimates The Punisher, for whatever reason, I'm not exactly sure, considering the damage he knows he can do. In total, they fight TWICE. I'd say....yeah, Matt is a better fighter, but not by a lot. Also should say, because Matt is the better fighter...doesn't mean he wins those fights...all I'm saying.

I can also say, one of my biggest gripes of season one and changes in season two:

Season one Matt ALWAYS got his ass kicked. Season two, not nearly as much. Far more skilled.
