Of course his appearance was part of it but also his age would make him convincing as a hero who has been around for a while but people can't remember, and he's good at playing bewildered.

I mean, the most common criticism of Sentry is that he's an extremely boring character. Now, I'm not sure Owen Wilson would be the right person for the role, but the idea of casting an, um, "unusual" actor instead of some generic good looking dude is not a bad one.

Nothing about Wilson makes him convincing about Sentry. Sentry is unhinged, troubled and on the edge constantly. I don't see Wilson at all.
My main problem being one of the major reasons is that he is blonde. Seriously, i thought we moved past that trope.

Here is my suggestion. Matt Bomer as Sentry.

The fact that 90% of fan-casting are limited to people that are blonde or red-headed in real is extremely stupid. LIke they can't wear wigs or dye their hair. An actres isn't a good fit for Sue or Carol Danvers unless she is blonde.

Look me in the eye and tell me that Blunt, Yvonne Strahovski or Katheryn Winnick being suggested as Carol Danvers wasn't prtially due to their hair color. It's stupid.

Nobody is saying that you have to like or that you can not comment other users ideas, but as you again confirmed, you always term them stupid ideas while assuming their motivation is based only on looks.
Anyway, how many times do people have to tell you that your manners are impolite and offensive?
You can disagree and comment without that tone and language.
