I was able to get my hands on one of these and I must say it is a lot better than the one from the first movie. As that one was a dark blue color and not black which I think was the reason why no one bought it. Anyways well it’s a pretty nice toy. It was oddly packaged as the twist ties were tied by holes that are on the vehicle. The things it does are both sides pop out to revel two missile/rocket type launchers which you get two red ones with the vehicle. The front of it opens up as well as the sides by pushing one of two buttons on the back of the car. This will reveal the bat pod with the Batman figure that comes with the vehicle on it. Now the thing that kind of bummed me about this thing was that the figure does not come off the bat pod so you can't add one of your own Dark Knight figures to it. Other than that if you push the 2nd button the back it will pop out the bat pod which can be put back by pushing it back into the car with a spring loaded type thing. From here you can close the front and push the sides back into place to have it from the Batmobile. Overall I think this toy is very cool looking and a lot bigger than the one from the first movie. Just thought I would throw in my 2 cents on the subject and help some of you Dark Knight fans decide whether of not you want to buy one of these once they are officially out.

Funny. After seeing the movie, I want this now. Or at least, some Bat-Pod vehicle. My Hot Wheels Tumbler that I picked up after Begins will do fine, but I NEED the Bat-Pod now.

In defense of Mattel's Begins Batmobile, they eventually corrected the paint apps to black and bronze/gold, which made it look much more accurate, and awesome.

As for the size, the Begins Batmobile was, scalewise, actually bigger than it should have been! I can't wait to see if the Dark Knight Batmobile is just ridiculously big in relation to the figures. Doesn't necessarily mean it's less fun though!

Pictures sir, we need pictures! :D

here are some:

i wonder if this is what happens in the movie....the back of the box says "real movie scene action!", im guessing that means the batpod DOES come from the tumber?

I bought this last week, and it truly is an awesome toy. I have it displayed on top of my desk as I'm typing this. I got lucky when I bought mine, because I found out they weren't supposed to have them out yet. When I went back there later on, the entire display of them was gone, so I guess they realized their goof and put the things back up. Target has a much smaller tumbler for.. 15 bucks, I think.. that you can put 4 inch figures in. I'm thinking about getting one of those as well.

Yes, from what I've heard, the Joker destroys the Tumbler and then Batman comes riding the batpod out of the wreckage. You know how he goes into the lower part of the batmobile in certain parts of Begins? He's actually on the batpod when he's doing that, I believe.

How much was it?

I saw them today in the store. There no way my wife well let me bring that home (way to big and costs to much) but that is freakin cool!!

i agree and whoever said the bat-pod doesn't come out the tumbler...all i have to say is go see the movie when it comes out, lol

btw are there any Tumbler Batmobiles that aregood for the 5' figures or the Movie master figures?

Both of them apparently. Someone said that the Begins Tumbler is actually more in scale with the Movie Masters figures than it is with the 5 inch figures it was intended for, though Batman's cape has to be removed to get him inside.

The Stealth Launch Tumbler apparently also fits the MM Batman (in the area meant for the Batpod), and I guess with cape still attached.

I want this, I will get it my next paycheck for sure.

I just wish i had the money.
right now though i have my eyes set on the first afordable MM joker figure i see /can find

So, Movie Master figures fit inside the Stealth Launch Tumbler eh...that is good news. No worries on taking of Batman's cape though, I was gonna do that from the start.

Looks like I'm gonna go on a search for the Tumbler. Also, THANK GOD it has the gold rims, all the prototype pictures had ALL black, and it looked kind of blank.

Also, does anyone remember the Horsemen talking about making a Movie Masters scaled Bat-Pod? I think it was in a Toy Fare magazine earlier this year.

How did you get him off? I'm almost afraid to take him off. But good pics better then what I would of used lol.

his crotch is glued to the seat lol trust me, if you want to take him off, just pull him off. nothing gets ruined. and thank you, my camera is 12MP

man I bought a diecast 1:18 hot wheels tumbler cuz I didnt really care about owning a batpod...well now that I've seen the movie I wish I woulda grabbed this bad boy!
gotta love that batpod...

I've got a question. I just got mine, and I'm having a hard time closing the tumbler with the batman/batpod inside it. I dont know if I'm doing something wrong or if its not really supposed to close with the batpod inside. I dont want to forced it coz i might break it. Anyone else having the same problem?

try pushing the top part down first. then the sides. i have no problem with mines.

maybe a little ot, but where did you find that 1:18 hot wheels tumbler, ABongHalloween?

i cant find any type of hot wheels vehicle for this movie, not even the 1:50 tumbler..very disappointing!

Amazon.com
29.99 and FREE shipping. can't beat that!
I paid almost the same amount for my little MM Scarecrow.
It's awesome tho ,besides the canopy being hard to deal with in my opinion.
wish they'd make a die cast 1:18 batpod now tho or a Movie Masters Batpod, that
would be awesome!

anyone who was thinking of grabbing a Hot Wheels 1:18 Tumbler from Amazon.com should know the price has been bumped up to 39.99. Now I'm glad I got one after all.

I just picked mine up today. This thing is one hell of a toy!

The Batpod really freakin' books. It can clear my entire kitchen floor from back to front.

My only issue with it is that the Batpod and the mounted Bats figure are just out of scale with the 5' figures. I put it next to my Punch-Packing Joker and he just towers over the Batpod.

It's still cool though.

Oh, and TRU was having a special where if you buy $25 or more of Batman merch, you get a free Batman backpack. It's a kids backpack of course, but I'll still probably use it for school. I love silly retro-looking bags, and my Vader bag is starting to rip, heh.
