It is said that one day Darkseid will engage in a final battle with Orion. Should DC do a massive story involving the end of Darkseid?

In my opinion, if done by someone like Grant Morrison, it would be incredibly awesome!

It is proficised that Darkseid and Orion will engage in one final battle in the firepits of Apokoalipse, and only one will survive.

Not to be a dick, but it's Apokolips, not Apokoalipse. :p

I know. I think that Grant Morrison should do a story concerning the huge and epic battle between them and the events leading up to it.

You're right.

You are a dick.

Yeah...I know. :o :(

Anyway, I would like to see the final battle between Orion and Darkseid play out. Morrison would be a good choice I think, but I also wouldn't mind Mark Waid doing the writing duties. Either of those two would be my choice.

A remade "Quiet Darkness" with the current Legion and Orion reviving instead of Highfather would be a good way to go about it, IMO.

Quiet Darkness? Was that the Great Darkness Saga-esque remake they did in the Legion run that took place after Legion Lost?

No, that was the one with the pre-boot adult Legion; my bad.:( Yeah, the Great Darkness saga or something like that.;)

Weren't Darkseid and Orion supposed to fight to the death at the end of Jack Kirby's original series before it was cancelled?

Anyway, I thought the prophesy said specifically that Orion would kill Darkseid, instead of just saying that they'd fight. I could be wrong, but that's what I thought it said.

Yep, that was the original plan. Mostly people decided not to kill Darkseid off out of respect for Kirby, and especially when Darkseid became hella popular.

Also, yes, the prophecy isn't just fighting. It's Orion killing Darkseid.

I think it should be done one of these days. It's what Kirby planned after all.

But didn't Darkseid win that fight since in The Legion book (when they brought Superboy there) he was still alive.

Maybe the fight just hasn't taken place.

even tho it was an elseworld book,in kingdom come orion had defeated darkseid and replaced him on apokalips too.

as long as they don't do a star wars with darkseid and him orion turn him back towards the light i think that a battle should take place and he should be defeated.

after all this is the comics and there is always a way to bring folk back from the dead.

I doubt they would ever kill Darkseid since hes like one of there 3 good villains.

I think they should do the storyline, as it would make for an epic read (depending on the writer).
But, as Trop mentioned, I think they should do, if they do do it, in the Legion book so that it takes place in the future timeline of the DCU. That way they could have the final Darkseid story and battle between Orion and his father, and continue to use 'Seid in the current DCU timeline with no problems.

Morrison is not that good of a writer, but what of this "destiny" between Darkseid and Orion?I have not heard of this before..

I say no. Purely out of respect for Kirby. It was his story to tell and his alone.
