It was more than just Batman. It was a spoof on that entire style of hero: The Crimson Avenger and The Shadow in particular.

got the dvds to save me from the mostly mediocre entertainment of today.

It's been awhile since I've seen the show, but I remembered loving it as a kid. Fav villain? The Rat/Mouse character that was kinda like Electro I guess.

I'd say he's more Shadow than anything else. Given that the Crimson Avenger is "inspired by" the Shadow.
