So I couldn't help but notice when bane appeared on the clone wars he looked nothing like the bane they designed for season 3 (and which was later removed). I didn't think much of it but the helmet and costume of the new sith from the trailer looks just like him.

You calling me? Wait, are talking about the Darth Bane who invented the Rule of Two or the Bane from The Clone Wars series?

No one cared who Darth Bane was until he put on the mask.

Maybe Serkis? Though I doubt he'll be an EU character. They might borrow elements from EU Sith Lords, but he'll probably be brand new.

Serkis is playing TWO CGI Chaaracters i hear. UGH! I hate CGI characters.

You should've seen it coming. Serkis is promoting the hell out of his school of digital acting, or whatever it's called officially, since, I guess, before Rise of the Planet of the Apes. He wasn't gonna do it without playing at least one CGI character. Even in Age of Ultron he's been doing CGI work.

Still, do you really hate Caesar (from the aforementioned movie-s)?

PS: I'm not sure if his Force User character is CGI. Alien, yes. But CGI? We don't know yet.

Darth Bane is actually not an EU Character, he was created by Lucas for the backstory to Episode I and appeared in the Clone Wars animated series. It's also worth noting his initial scheduled appearance was pulled by Lucas and when he finally did appear (in the final episode no less) he had a massive costume design overhaul.

EDIT:
Also you've gotta admit this guy does resemble a cross between him and Revan

Indeed, I haven't overlooked the Revan mask, and I do know that Bane is now canon 'cause of the CW episode. Still, I think it'll be neither. Not that I care, as long as he's done right.

I wouldn't rule the character out entirely. I think Plagueis may be used to book end the saga, but when the second sequel trilogy is inevitably announced I expect they may use a truly ancient evil if they are to continue to up the stakes.

Or... a completely new kind of evil!

Perhaps, but don't expect the force to be removed from the equation. Star Wars has always been Science Fantasy before Science Fiction.

Oh, I don't want the Force out of it. It just doesn't have to be a resurrected Sith or what have you.
