Hey guys,
I'm not new to shh, I've been on here since it was Spider-man Hype. I've seen people with many fan film ideas for everything from james bond to ant-man. But Within in this last week I've been able to complete shooting on my latest project Rise of the sith. Right now its in post production. Many things have to be done But I will be updating this thread time to time and answer questions if there are any :O

Well here are some pictures from filming last week

looks decent i suppose...

although what would a sith lord be doing up a tree?

its a promo shot, though it does have something do with the film

WOW, that looks absolutley amazing. Finally someone who can bring justice to Darth Maul! The makeup job is superb and I just love the setting!

heres a dumb question lol its before ep1 lol isnt it?

The make-up of Darth Maul looks pretty well-done. Just to clarify, this isn't another forrest duel is it? If it is, and you aren't very far into shooting, I would suggest going a different route. It has been done to death.

How do you know they can do justice to the character? By making sure he looks right?

That's the logic of all these fan films anyway.

superb, I'm working on a secret production right now, its a mix of star wars serenity and knight movies

Almost all of them. Some filmmakers are concerned with every aspect equally.

The makeup is amazing. I can't wait to see it.

well maybe because spidey was there on set

Well I'm just happy this thread picked up speed. As of right now we are in the stages of rough editing. then I'll be out doing the final edit with my avid system. Also for all you music lovers out there, This film will be org. scored. and no it wont be a one man band. I'm getting a orchestra and chorus to score this project. But I'm hoping for a January release for the project. I will have more pictures up soon

I'm looking forward to this..

Is this like the back story to maul?

how long is it? What editing suite are you using? What camera's did you use?

also, is your screen name in reference to the aweseom shadow character from the pulp comics?

I'm using an avid to edit the picture, but for the rough edit I'm using avid's little brother pinnacle/. Yes my name is referenced to the pulp comic the shadow :-) as for the camera we used a Panasonic dvx 100a camera. I was going to use a Sony dsr but the rental company had none in stock at the time. but what I can I say I had to work with what I had at the time.

yes it is a glimpse of a reinvented back story I have created for the character. If all things go will I will possibly go into doing a decent length Darth Maul origin film. This film is a glimpse of what has happened after the origin film. It's sort of tricky to think about, so dont get that stuck in your head lol

Length? Got any location pix? did you have a lighting rig or anything? If so what? Sorry about the interest, whereabouts did you shoot? Also the shadow rocks!

I could get some location the pics. the film will be about 8 min's long. we were going to have a lighter but at the end of the day the natural lighting was perfect and didn't have to be perfected at all. although we did have bounce cards on hand if needed. We shot on long island and yes the shadow does rock hard core

So you only used the one camera? Did that mean you filmed the same scene lots of times, then had to cut it together? That can be lots of effort, where did you get actors from? What you planning to do with the film after it's finished? excuse my curiosity, but this is what I do for a living, so it's interesting to see how others do it.

actors are sag, yes I only used one camera. 99 percents of the time we didn't use a tripod . I love the gritty ness to having the camera hand held. yes it is a lot of effort though right now I'm planning to do some Reshoots. so it seems like maul will have to be sitting in the chair for another 3 hours of make up. What am I going to do with the film after its finished hmm..probably put it on the net, send it to various comic cons and film festivals. I just want to share the vision I had of this character with other people
