He's back, and he's bigger, meaner and redder than ever before. This thread is for discussing David Harbour and his new take on everyone's favorite demon.

Can't Spawn be considered a demon?
However I love the new looks of Hellboy. Why didn't you post it together with the thread, buddy?

He certainly looks the part and is a good actor. Looking forward to seeing some footage.

I hate to say it, but as much as I loved the previous version, Perlman's prosthetics look kind of fake and goofy in comparison. This takes the previous design and just improves it considerably - especially in regard to how realistic the body looks.

I'm just glad they're doing makeup and not CGI'ing the whole thing.

I will always like Ron Pearlman as Hell boy on and off screen but I have to admit David looks awesome as Hell boy. I hope he puts his own spin on it and not like Ron. He looks Hello and very cool.

I'm really hoping his version is Hellboy the Globally Famous Public Hero. That was probably my one biggest disappointment with the earlier movies, that they moved him back to being the cliche secret defender.

What about the animated films? Have you seen them?

Wait.. Hellboy shouldn't have a bellybutton. He didn't incubate in a womb.

Yes he did. His mother was a witch and she gave birth to him in hell. He didn't just appear out of nowhere.

Yeah, it largely looks a difference in style, not quality. But this isn't a bad thing, because the original Hellboy makeup job was quite good.

I just stumble upon this, wow I'm so excited for this I love Hellboy.

In the pics we've seen, his version looks noticeably meaner - more demonic. I hope that's mainly due to his expression and not an all the time thing. It's definitely a good thing for some scenes, but I don't think Hellboy is supposed to look particularly scary most of the time.

Don't know what they're going for with the face make up. Harbour already looks like hell of, all this caked on make up just looks goofy. Harbour's nose for instance, is short and thin, just like hellboy's. After the make up it just looks bulbous and weird. Idk why they're doing it. Just paint him red and you'd be good.
