Find his BAFTA screenwriting lecture...it is awesome to listen to him talk about the emotional core of Batman Begins and Man of Steel.
I didn't realize how personal Man of Steel was, with all the father stuff.

I have to admit alarm bells aren't ringing yet but it is a slight concern for me that they've still don't have a finished script heading into production in a month's time.

Well, that's odd. Didn't Amy Adams say it was finished?

Well he says "I’ve read a script. I think it’s not finalized yet". That could just mean that he doesn't know or that they haven't given him the final script to read yet.

David S. Goyer is not the best possible choice to write a screenplay for a Batman/Superman movie. I can´t tell you who that would be, but i´m pretty sure there are WAAAY, WAAAY better writers out there. The best thing he has ever done is TDK trilogy, and that had Chris and his brother behind.

Isn´t he just polishing the script?

Either way, i think he is good but too green. I´d prefer someone more experienced. Someone who had already written a good number of great movies. I´m pretty sure there´s someone like that out there, right?

I´m only saying this because i think this movie deserves the best possible writer you could get. "Good" is not enough.

In both art and science and indeed in all fields of human creativity, people often do their best work when they're young.

The best case scenario is not to hire a 50 year old legend, but to hire someone who will be a legend when they are 50.

This is legitimately the best news to come from the BVS camp since we knew this movie existed. Goyer is simply a bad writer. He has some good ideas from a plot standpoint, but he can't develop those ideas into a strong script without help.

Calling him a bad writer is excessively harsh imo.

There have been some rumours that Terrio has done a full rewrite, using Goyer's story treatment. Also that Affleck threatened to walk if Terrio wasn't allowed.

I hope Terrio is as good as you all are praising him for. I've seen Argo, and I can't say I was really blown away by the writing...

You've got to remember you're in the minority on that. Not saying it like it's a bad thing, but something is only considered good by the amount of people that like it, and a lot of people like Argo, hence it winning Best Adapted Screenplay in 2013.

He may just not be your taste. Or the story itself isn't.

Totally. But has he done any genre work or anything? Something that can assure us we're in safe hands here.

The only other projects listed are Book of Kings, a short film, plus another adaptation, this time a play, called Heights.
