i think this movie has more than just gort... theres these wierd large globes that come outta the ground... and a dark cloud that destroys things.

From this trailer, no. If another trailer comes out and it far surpasses this one...then I might reconsider. But so far...it's a no for me. Just a generic explosion alien storyline to me and Keanu doesn't help anything.

Keanu is a great actor and very underrated (watch his stuff in The Gift and A Scanner Darkly and say he isn't good!). He is perfect for sci-fi and the thought of him as an Alien is enough for me. I believe the movie will be more than just explosions and special effects as Scott Derrickson seems to be a very intelligent guy and a good director.

The trailer is getting very positive reaction so far (aside the remake haters that will hate it even if it is a masterpiece) and I think it was wise to put it at theaters first and not online, as it caught people by surprise and that generates word of mouth.

Sounds like the perfect role for him, imo, He really has a cold-hearted emotionless side of him(its not bad acting), I think he would make a great villain

boring?... were you expecting an action movie?lol

as for disaster flick... that is what i like about this one, the original left the audience with klatu's message and he flies away....not knowing if the earth will comply or not. i hope to see the people of earth either comply or not in this movie.

I need to see this trailer! I love the Day the Earth stood Still its one of my favorite films of all time! I'm excited as hell, although I doubt I'll like it more than the original I still expect to have a blast at the theaters!

I saw it too, only a little bit. I wasn't paying attention cause I was talking to my mum but it was Keanu talking to someone and he was strapped down in a char with a gadget on his head, than there was a spaceship or something and all of these people in nuclear suits walking towards it. Than Keanu and some girl talking.

Finally saw the footage on ET and it really blew me away by the scope of the film. This may actually turn out to be good.
