Sony Bend's game has finally been announced

[YT]qkpE8neKrJU[/YT]

Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic. Play as Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who rides the broken road, fighting to survive while searching for a reason to live.

At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love – and hope. It’s about how even when confronted with such enormous tragedy they find a reason to live. Hope never dies.

My immediate reaction to this was "meh, it's just a Last of Us clone with motorcycles", but that zombie horde was gorgeous. This looks like it'll be what that Daryl Dixon Walking Dead game should have been. I'll play it.

This looks like last of us meets 28 days later and world war Z, count me in.

Thought it was going to be last of us 2 so disappointed that it is not but the this game still looks cool.

Don't worry Last of Us 2 is coming later down the line. Naughty Dog has said they're gonna focus on that after they finish the story DLC for Uncharted 4. Have some patience haha.

Looks like Daryl the game! One to keep an eye on.

Very pumped for this one, don't care if it's very similar to TLOU. Both can coexist and I'll play them both.

Looking forward to play this one. Those waves of zombies are insane.

Days Gone Exclusive Coverage Trailer

Gameinformer covering Days Gone this month

They need to release a demo for this. The hype for this seems nonexistant

Agreed. At first glance, this game doesn't have that hook that Horizon, God of War, and Spider-Man have. Hopefully this coverage and E3 can help this game out.

There seems to be no draw for me with this game it's trying to be an open world last of us but in the point of a biker

Watch The First Hour Of Days Gone

After watching this I'm cautiously optimistic. It's interesting they said there's no difficulty option since it's already challenging enough. I guess those who like just to play for story are not going to like that.

games without difficulty options are great. it gives authentic drive to get better and master the mechanics of the game. When there is an option, if one who enjoys a harder experience gets stuck on a part, there's that annoying thought "well, I could always turn it down just once. maybe this is just too stubborn"

if there is no option, only one challenge, instead of feeling stubborn it feels exciting and once you finally get through, it's much more rewarding

As for comparisons to Last of Us, I like this kind of gameplay a bit more. Last of Us lacked in variety in the gameplay. In Days Gone there's seemingly more ways to mix up the experience, and the effort to make this world feel real and dangerous randomly is admirable. Story and writing is another thing, though I never thought Last of Us was impressive even in that regard

I see them patching in a difficulty option later. Being too hard is a real barrier to entry for alot of gamers, including professional press. Most Sony first party games do have options so its odd that this wont from the gate. I expect that to change, especially since its a story driven experience

That's what Bloodborne taught me. I'm thankfull it was the way it was. It made me a MUCH better player than I ever was.
Taking on hard games now feels much easier than before. When the gameplay is great, it becomes challengedly fun, instead of frustrating.

New Gameplay Today – Days Gone

[YT]_NNPqRpBNGk[/YT]

After reading Sony's E3 plans, makes sense why we are getting a lot of footage from game informer. Days Gone would have been overshadowed by Spider-Man, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, and Last of Us Part II.

With The Last of Us 2 coming it just doesn't feel like this has any traction.

Being an exclusive, I hope this game is good and becomes successful and sells well, but I just can't find the strength to anticipate and get excited for this.

I feel like I've played all of that in other games, already.
