What's funny is that I told myself we'd probably only make $30m this weekend, and yet I'm still somehow disappointed.

I feel like I should stop monitoring the box office and come back after a few months when it's all over.

$200 million does seem like a lock. If it gets $2-3 million days this Monday-Thursday it can go into Friday with $170 million, hopefully it'll stabilize a bit in its third weekend and gross $15 million (+$185 million).

Hmmm seems like some websites were a little off with their expectations and estimations, where did $20million get lost too?

Is a shame the more money it makes the better for the franchise but I guess X-men is still in a recovery phase rather than back to full force it once was. Guess they will have to get used to the fact there is more choice these days, Spidey has discovered that harsh lesson this year.

Still its an improvement on FC and TW so still heading up rather than down and who knows what the actual figures will be as these "analysts" dont seem to be wholly reliable.

The weekend should've been projected to be around $34-38M in the first place. The actual looks to fall slightly below that.

Honestly I get how you guys feel but I already went through the super wrong inflated early numbers disappointment last June with Man of Steel so I never thought those 48-50mil numbers were real.

Oh of course. But it was the 36-40m numbers that got me excited.

At least MOS made a ton of money. Or at least compared to any film so far this year.

It should be more than 60 million by now. The 3 day tally was 39 million something. Also, The Wolverine had a good 2nd weekend drop so I'm expecting this one to follow.

I'm hoping it's around 32-33 million. I would be satisfied with that. Ill only be dissapointed if it ends up like at 27-28 million.

I believe it opened yesterday in Japan. Opened 5/30 in Japan. It open's 6/6 in Spain. Spain is all thats left i Believe.

For example, Godzilla made $1,285,578 the first weekend in Spain. So Spain may be good for a couple million after DOFP run in Spain.

Captain America 2 only has done $6,628,830 in Japan total. So i don't know if X-Men will do 15 million.

I was predicting 10M, and this came in even below that. It's typical that Memorial day films don't have legs, and it's been a track record for the previous x-men films. I knew the early numbers were totally off, but I predicted around 35.

The WW box office will guarantee a sequel, and should finish around 650M.

Fox should really consider moving Apocalypse's release date because the crowded summers are really not helping.
