Anyone else think (or hope) that Singer will follow through on his original intention for X3 and have Cyclops be the main protagonist in XMA (assuming he brings Cyke back by the end of DOFP, and I'm positive he will)?

I do, the wait has been so long that I think it's time.

It doesn't matter if the rumoured ending to DOFP is a happy one. It hints at a perfect blank slate to build upon.

Also, a happy ending could then turn into a darker one during a post-credits stinger, like some sort of twist.

Yeah, I remember that. Well see. Curious to who the cast is here and if it is the second pt of DOFP. If DOFP was an inbetween sequel like Singer said I would assume this film is with only one of the casts.

problem with using 1 cast is that either way you either lose actors like either lawrence or mckellen, and you got this story involves time travel *shrug*, seems to stand out to me personally

although i dunno whether can see them going the Xavier is assassinated route because then that would mean no patrick stewart and i don't think FOX would want that, i can see some liberties being taken like DOFP

Except the rumored ending hints at hapy ending. If that one Is actully seen on screen then Apocalypse could be villain for FC cast+Hugh jackman+Maybe Gambit to deal with. Remember T2 had a happy ending planned but cameron scrapped it.If you want the OT cast again you better hope Bryan Singer doesn't use the rumored ending.
A happy ending between Professor Xavier and Magneto and the avoidance of a dystopian future caused by their feud. It doesn't guarantee a happy ending between them and everyone else.

Lauren Shuler Donner spoke ages ago about a planned X4 that leads into an X5. DoFP and XMA are probably those two projects, so they probably already have a pitch for the film.

This definetly seems to be the case.

Im sure this was all in the plan since that year, makes perfect sense.

Bryan and Lauren have had plenty of discussions all these years and that treatment was more than likely this whole Back to back sequels (basically)

Yeah, I really dont know just going off what he said. Im curious on how this fits with everything else they are planning. Thought for sure this would come post Cable introduction.

Maybe they are also crossing FF here since they are out a year before and Kinbergs attached to everything now. Personally I dont want those two crossing paths in that story, but its seeming likely.

Post credit scenes are usually no more than 1 minute. And something like seems more than 1 minute.I could see brief scene of Apocalypse but not a major sequenze.

I'm sure they had those ideas in mind, though the details will change. It just needed the studio to agree to do it. It seems that Fox has enough faith in DoFP to go forward already with a follow-up, which is very good news.

The rumored ending hints at happy ending for X-Men characters and erasing
of trilogy+The wolverine. Now if that Is true The more logicil thinking would
be post 1973 set sequel with Apocalypse as villain.

since Singer posted the info, do you guys think he will direct "Apocalypse"?

1991 Desert Storm. Recruit Ororo.

In 1991 they would be:
Cyclops 22 (16 in Origins-1985)
Storm 21
Jean 17 (12 in 1986, 20 years ago to 2006)
Gambit 26 (if he was 20 in Origins).

Xavier 59
Magneto 58
Beast 50
This three would need good makeup, McAvoy definitely baldhead.

I wonder what has been doing Mystique since 1973 in new timeline, is she working for Apocalypse now, if Erik isn't villain?

Yeah, he aint gonna leave again.

It's more feasible in what sense? You have nothing to back up this claim whatsoever?

Days of Future Past is resetting the timeline in order to pass the torch to the younger cast. After 1973, continuity is free from the first six films.

The X-Men that will continue starring in these movies (and have the majority of screentime in Days of Future Past) are McAvoy's Xavier, Jackman's Wolverine, Fassbender's Magneto, Lawrence's Mystique, Hoult's Beast and the newcomers who haven't been cast yet.

You mean early 90's ? 1991 Desert Storm. Good to recruit Ororo. In 1991 they would be: Cyclops 22 (16 in Origins-1985) Storm 21 Jean 17 (12 in 1986) Gambit 26 (if he was 20 in Origins).

I'm thinking 80s. Like Days of Future Past, ten years later.

Scott would be in his late 20s, considering he was a Senior in 1979 (Origins).

Jean was a teenager when Xavier and Magneto went to see her in 1993 (Opening of X3), but they can retcon that to make her 18-21 in the 80s.

Storm was a little girl in 1973 (Origins), so she's close to Scott's age.

None of this is backed up by anything. Most of this is what YOU THINK will happen.

I expect so. At the very least he's obviously heavily involved.

I wonder if they'll try to get Mangold involved creatively.

Probelms with your sceniro.

Origins If included in timeline of films Is In 1970's.

Future of DOFP Is 2023.That retconns timeframe of Last stand as 2012/2013

Some have insisted Jean Is 30 In last Stand. And cyclops and Storm are basiclly her age.So if true you couldn't have 16 year Cyclops,Jean, and Storm till Late 1990's.If you say they were In mid 30's In Trilogy maybe you can get away with them as 16 In early 1990's.And I doudt they would jump any further than early 1980's.

Of course they could go the star Trek method and complete Ignore Trilogy and wolverine films after the time travel.
