I watched it again for a second time, and it is imo the best animated superhero movie so far.

The last scene before the bomb goes off is just wow.

Warner Animation just needs to release a two disc special edition for Mask of the Phantasm already.

:(

Just got my Blu-ray copy of Under the Red Hood in today but my gf wants to watch Lost. Decisions, decisions.

I own and have watched every other DC Original Animated film just once for as long as i've had them.

....I've had 'Red Hood' since Wednesday and have already watched it twice.

:cwink:

This film was terrific! I didnt know it had a PG13 at first, there were some very dark elements! I definitely plan on watching it again soon.

The Joker took a little getting use to. At first I didn't like him, he sounded more like a normal average guy and didn't really have as much "Jokerish" in him like Ledger and Hamill...but I got around to liking him. Sometimes the laugh was off though. Overall I liked how the Joker was the supporting villain. Batman was terrific, as was Alfred. I loved the look of Gotham and all of the different bat-gadgets, my favorite was the batwing. I also liked the small inclusions of Ra's and the flashback with the Riddler. Only disappointment was that the movie was over 90% Batman, I wanted a little more of Bruce Wayne.

Like I said, there were some really dark elements! I was shocked when Joker dropped the lighter in the truck, the parts with the dead body, and of course the opening scene. Loved it, definitely my favorite animated Batman film thus far. Keep it up DC!

The glass of water scene was classic Joker though. Loved it.

Yeah, I think it was this movie's version of the pencil trick. Loved it.

I really liked this movie. I think it is probably the best animated movie Warner Brothers had done so far.

I saw the movie two nights ago and all I have to say is WOW. Amazing movie!

Hopefully sometime this week we can get the sale numbers for it's first week out, I hope this is doing very well because it deserves it.

I really, sincerely hope they make a Jonah Hex dtv. After watching the short before getting a chance to watch Hood I was like, "Damn, I wanna see this movie! :wow:", it was that good I thought. Love Tom Jane as Hex, great voice for the role.

Amazing film. Definitely my current favorite as of now. I really liked how this was written and the dark feel to it. Kudos to Greenwood and Maggio as Batman and Joker. Greenwood was a joy to listen to as Bats, I'm glad he'll be voicing him again and he's a suitable replacement for Conroy when he's not available. I also loved Joker's lines and how well they were placed (take the talk between Bruce and Jason for instance.) All in all, solid viewing.

Exactly my sentiments.

From the limited stuff I've seen from this Batman comes off as a bit talky, but Greenwood's voice works.

This film and Wonder Woman are DC's best animated movies by far. I really enjoyed this film, very dark, very mature, the way a batman film should be. The way they explained Jason Todd's resurrection was very satisfying and way better than what the comics did (Superboy prime punch.....UGH!!!).

This is how they need to make these animated films, no holds barred. I really like Greenwood as Batman, if Conroy ever retires the voice, i think he should replace him. There i said it. Joker was rough at first but his voice grows on you and really becomes creepy as the film plays out.

Overall, definitely DC's best outing along with Wonder Woman. Even though i'm excited for Superman/Batman Apocalypse, i have a strong feeling its not gonna be up to par (i wasnt a big fan of Public Enemies).

Any news on the sales? >_>

There was one thing that slightly bothered me, at the end where Jason tells Batman that he's going to kill the joker unless Batman shoots Jason first. Batman drops the gun and then walks away and Jason screams out "HIM OR ME! HIM OR ME!". I didnt get that because at that point what was stopping jason from killing joker? For all jason knew, Batman was letting him kill the joker since he didnt try to stop him. Then instead of shooting the joker like he wanted to he shoots Batman? I dont understand that, was he bluffing and didnt have the nerve to kill joker either? Was he hoping batman would try to stop him?

He knew Batman wouldn't let him kill anyone, even the Joker. He was challenging Batman to stop him. He was trying to force him to choose between him and the Joker. I don't think he bought Batman's bluff that he was just walking away.

Dimaggio is also a voice actor on Adventure Time, my favorite cartoon!

There's quite a lag time with DVD sales data. The estimated DVD sales for the week Batman: Under the Red Hood was first released should be available next Tuesday.

I was very entertained by this movie. I think we have a suitable replacement for Conroy now as well.

Except that both actors are close to same age, and there will never be a real placement for those who have decided to let their childhood nostalgia cloud their critism on all the new Batman voice actors. :p
