DC Direct and Hot Toys Figures

The figures are obviously very expensive and very unique. But the question is. Are they worth buying? When I buy figures, I also open them, and I enjoy putting them in different poses and recreating scenes. If they figures are indeed worth it? Which Batman should I purchase? And which Joker? I don't care if I mix and match DC Direct and hot toys. Thanks a ton.

Worth it? I'd have to say yes. Even though sadly, it is very expensive as you said, but! Detail detail detail! I'd have to say it makes every penny worth it.

I've always been a big fan of Batman since I was ye small as like most here. That I'm currently collecting the Takara/Hot Toy's and DC versions to display on a big display unit.

As for which version to buy, I'd say the new suit dark knight by Hot Toy's and Joker. They look so incredibly detailed.

Awesome pics Vodoun. My wife got me the Takara Batman for my birthday and I have to tell you, at 44, that moment, when I opened the box, was about as close to me feeling like a 12 year old as I'll probably ever get again. I love the Takara Batman. I work from home and have Bats proudly posed on my desk by my monitor. I think he represents one of the best figures EVER made and that's coming from a diehard, life long, Mego collector. Once again, nice shots!

Webhead38, heh! yeah I know the feeling. It was the detail that I saw in those pictures that fascinated me to collect them. Plus because it's Batman.

I really love the Takara and it's accessories. It was hard to get a hold of, plus the shop only had one. It's very rare it would seem now. Everywhere I've looked all sold out or no more coming in.

Hoping to display them in this once I have them.

I think the DC Direct Batman and Joker are going for around $70-80 apiece on most comic sites, on ebay they are usually between $100-180? The hot toys range from $170-250 on ebay, around $170.00 on most sites.

Indeed. It pretty much sums up most to some people's attitudes nowadays. People do immoral things just because it is possible or because there is chaos abroad. But enough of my optimism.

Has anyone that pre-ordered their DC Direct Joker TDK Poker set and Joker Cards from DCdirect.com or anywhere else gotten theirs yet? I see some sites say August or December I just ordered from one that said August 08. So anyone get theirs yet? I'm wondering how late it'll be in August.

I think the figures are worth buying but I would be wary of buying the more expensive Hot Toys versions of Batman and Joker if you are going to pose them and recreate scenes; the outfits might tear or get dirty and I don't know if I could justify spending $175 each on figures and having something bad happen to them.

On the other hand, the Hot Toys figures are more articulated than the DCD versions. So if you want more life-like poses, then the Hot Toys figures are the way to go; however, if you want more money in your pocket and not on your shelf, then you should buy the DCD versions.

That decision, is all up to you of course.
