Umm, what style of animation is it?

Lauren Montgomery (the director) is also an artist. I'm not sure if she is lending her talents to this as well. She did art work on Wonder Woman and Superman: Doomsday.

They showed a lot of sketch work on the characters that looked really good. I'm not sure which artist I would compare it to, but it looks really 'clean and angular' with well proportioned muscular definition. I'll look at the DVD again. I will try to get a screen grab to post.

No, I mean is it Timm style or anime? Because there was this slight fear of it being an anime movie.

Sorry, misread your question. It is in no way anime style and it is also not Timmversed either. I like the look of it a lot...it has a maturity to it. I will try to post some pics. I may have to do it the 'bootleg' way and take pics of it off my tv...lol. I'm not sure how else to post images from a DVD. Any suggestions???

I am fortunate enough to live in NYC and has access to stores that sell movies early. I just picked up the Wonder Woman DVD (a simply amazing movie!!!). Here is some info we have all been waiting for:

* The Green Lantern sneak peak is a 10-minute very in depth first look at the character and his origin.

* At least 5-minutes is spent highlighting the comic history of Green Lantern's origin (initially talking about Alan Scott and then Hal Jordan), delving into (actual) space travel and then back to the Green Lantern Corps.

* Lauren Montgomery (director of Wonder Woman) is directing this movie. Currently the movie is titled simply 'GREEN LANTERN'.

* This movie is described as a 'cop thriller set in outer space'. As per Bruce Timm, 'very little time is spent on Earth. It's a big galactic adventure'.

The cast is as follows:

* Christopher Meloni is the voice of Hal Jordan/Green Lantern

* Victor Garber is the voice of Sinestro

* Michael Madsen is Kilowog

* Tricia Helfer is Boodikka

Other Green Lantern corps members also show up!!!

It is scheduled for release SUMMER 2009

Okay, now I really need to see these images.

well we do have that one image of hal posted a page or two back.

I'd love to get some more cast members from the Whedonverse, BSG and Lost on these DC animated movies.

Please forgive the poor quality. I took these with my camera...

Gotta say, I like that art style. :up:

Another question about the style: is it still something you could fit along side the styles of the other DTVs?

I would say yes, not counting JL: New Frontier (which was set in the '50's and had that type of art style) and using only the Batman style from 'Deadshot' or possibly 'Crossfire'.

What do you think? Why do you ask...hoping that these Universes are connected somehow?

I dont think that is wb's plan with these films right now. They are just single universes presently i think.

Yeah, all of the DC Universe DTVs are standalone movies with different voice casts and different designs (although you'll obviously sometimes have some similarity in the designs since many of the same artists are working on the various movies).

I'm fine with them NOT being connected. All these characters deserve to have their stand-alone movies.
