DC Universe - Justice League: Gods and Monsters

i like how the animation style is the DCAU style. wonder if this will be connected in some way to it. most likely an another dimension/else-world perhaps.

Yup, that's totally Michael C. Hall as Batman.

Sorry to be a kill joy, but judging from the sneak peak, this DTV is very mixed for me. On one hand, i am intrigued enough to try this out as a rental, and i like the concept Bruce Timm is coming with using the Elseworlds ideas and bringing them into this take; on the other hand, Bruce Timm coming back and doing a DTV called “Justice League: Gods and Monsters”; I didn't know what I would expect, but it wasn't this, and that's the problem. i would want the actual JLA, the actual Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc.; and, still want Timm to bring in new ideas and concepts for storytelling and characters onto those characters. Hell, I love the title “Gods and Monsters”, that is perfect for a concept like or similar to this; but at the same time, it's a title I would want to use for something else that deserves it, but now that something else has to use something else.

So in the end: it's a mixed bag because it's intriguing, but it's not what I would want from something called Bruce Timm's “Justice League: Gods and Monsters”. It's also the reason why I'm looking forward to the next line of DC DTVs when they are announced at SDCC 2015.

So if i understood this correct. Wonder Woman was a New Genesis/Apokalyptian woman who married Orion to receive truce with Genesis/Apokalypse but this was all just the High Father's trap to pull a Red Wedding and have Darkseid slaughtered at the cost of Orion or Orion was killed in accident or something, but the point is Wonder Woman was a mole who then went on self-exile to Earth and became a superhero.

Doesn't seem all that interested in producing the new 52 stuff, kinda odd that once that was mandated he comes alone with his own non traditional thing. Wouldn't be surprised if his next thing was another non 52 non traditional as well.
Seems like the times.

I'm sold. Dat Bruce Timm.

I will say though, I hope this opens up more Elseworld type stories.

Looks great. When I first heard the premise earlier today I was skeptical but the featurette sold me.

With DC's new approach to the comics I'm expecting the same. Which is great. I'd love a larger emphasis on the multiverse. I'd be very happy if this was brought through to animation as well. Especially since I've found the nu52 movies to be rather subpar.

Unexpected to be sure but I'll never pass up a Bruce Timm project. Bring it on.

I generally almost always skip the DC DTV's (ie: the last Batman one I saw was TDKR 1 & 2) but this seems really interesting. I'm a sucker for Elseworlds and the concept of the DC multiverse so this is right up my alley.

It will be interesting to watch but it is kind of annoying that we can't even get a Batgirl dtv or Teen Titans dtv.

I think we might get something Teen Titans related in the future. There was some hubub recently, with the Teen Titans Go! cast moaning about how they were not cast in a future release.

I'd love something with Batgirl... but unfortunately, unless these things have Justice League or Batman somewhere in the title, they simply don't sell well enough.

Then put Batman in the title and have it revolve around Batgirl.

Superman|Batman: Apocalypse 2! :b

So like Assault on Arkham then? Alright, sure, I'd be fine with that. So long as it means Batgirl. :hrt:

What is the point to this film? It looks like the biggest waste of time and money unless they are finally trying to kill off all interest in DC animation.

This looks interesting and love all of Bruce Timm's JL projects.

But as for Timm being original here, I don't think so.

He ripped off Astro City on his take on this Batman.
