DC vs Marvel 2008-2010 movies - Box office fight

How would these movies fare against each other in box-office earnings?

2008

1. Batman 2 vs Iron Man
2. Wonder Woman vs the Incredible Hulk

2009

3. Next Superman vs Captain America
4. Flash vs Fantastic Four 3/Daredevil 2 (speculation)

2010

5. Green Lantern vs Thor (speculation)


My pick:
1. Tie or too close to call. It depends on how good the promotions and trailers of these movies. Batman is the traditional favorite, Iron Man is the new vogue in the block. It could get either way. I'd like Iron Man to be better, since Batman would certainly get another sequel without question.
2. Hulk. Wonder Woman will bomb. Hulk will smash.
3. Superman. I foresee the next Superman will be more action-packed, while Cap will lose significantly in the International box office but not the DVD market.
4. Flash. People would love to see the scarlet speedster on the big screen. Daredevil 2 if done right would make a good fight, while I think people would be bored with Fantastic 4 franchise at this point.
5. Thor. Epic movie will mop the floor with science fiction movie this time.

There are no movies planned for Deathstroke, Daredevil 2, Green Arrow, Moon Knight, Teen Titans, Runaways, or New Warriors. Also it is Superman 4 not Superman 6 on account that Superman III and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace have been retconned out. And it's the Power Pack, not the Power Peck.

Hulk crushes puny woman. There's noway in HELL Hulk loses to Wonder Woman in the box office, besides Charlies Angels, which already had a fanbase and starred 3 popular women in the lead roles, name me another succsessful action movie with a woman in the lead role??

I'm not saying WW will be a bad movie, just that the general public isn't into superpowered women.

bats vs iron man is too tuff to tell now... cuz bats revival is awesome. we need to see how iron man looks and what the story is before we can judge cuz hes hit or miss....

hulk vs ww is same thing... all depends how hulk looks its a hit or miss.

superman vs cap is also tough cuz they sorta the same thing...there both companies American hero or however you wanna label them... id have to say Cap would fare better in states but Supes would probably do better over seas

Flash vs FF4 3 i gotta go with Flash cuz his movie will have humor as well and even tho FF does too i just thing Flash will draw more viewers back.

lastly Green Lantern vs Thor...its the Odinson all the way cuz his movie should and will be epic ...nuff sed

Whedon can do great things with women in his work.

I like some of Whedon's work like Buffy and Angel but those were just cult hits. They had a audience of 4 to 5 million a week at best. If those shows were on one of the big networks they would have been cancelled after one year.

Serenity was a bomb at the box office and WW is hardly what I call a hugely popular character even among fan boys as her comic sales over the years shows. The best WW can hope for is a Blade like BO and I think Hulk should still be able to pull in at least $100 million at the BO.

I just don't understand why people think Whedon is so great.

Green Lantern VS Thor - I'll bet money on thor, no doubt in my mind, not with jack black's name being attatched lately to GL.

Flash vs FF3 - FF all the way, all marvel movies make more each time, and i know that FF&TSS is going to be huge! (can't wait)

Superman vs Captain America - Depends the direction of CA and the actor, If they cast Brad Pitt as Captain America then they get my vote but if not then Supes will probaly make more money.

Hulk vs Wonder Woman - Hulk smash.

Iron Man vs Batman - Iron Man will be fresh and original and Favs is the man so Tony Stark gets my vote.

But when Whedon was involved with a film - Serenity, a film that was very good one to boot - it still failed miserably. Whedon just doesn't seem to jive with the general public. At least that's what it appears to me.
