DCEU Audience Survey (Posted in Reddit and Tumblr)

Good day,

I am conducting a survey to find out audience sentiments towards the DCEU while also examining if age, sex and online communities explain some variances in opinions. Issues included are Snyder's vision, Whedon's decisions, Batfleck as well as casual and critical ratings of the films.

As of 12/6/2017, there are 615 respondents. 48% from Tumblr and 44% from DCEU Reddit sub, the rest from other sources.
M/F split is around 58/42. People who consider themselves DCEU fans are around 85%. I hope to diversify my respondents by posting here.

Other notes:

The survey has M/F as demographics.
One question Light vs Dark tones is asked with no middle option.

I aim to close this survey as soon as Tumblr and Reddit hits the 30%+ share or if I gathered 1000 respondents. Results will be posted here as soon as late December or delayed to early January.

If you have suggestions on how to expand the demographic pool to non-DCEU fans I will appreciate it. Thanks!

That was cool to fill out. I think it would be better to treat the larger universe as a backdrop, rather than the fuel for multi film storylines.

Done. The only question I didn't like was the "Prioritise lighter for all ages or darker for adults" question. Too binary for something with as many characters and potential tones/takes like this.

Unfortunately, some are too caught up over the tones being the big sticking point when it's the execution that matters.

Thanks. A lot of respondents also expressed the same thing, but I think it is fair one tone will emerge as dominant, and it does not mean the absence of the other. The example is Star Wars, light tone is overall dominant but Ep III ROTS is very dark.

That does seem interesting, but recasting Cavill wasn't a buzz for the past months leading to JL, while Batfleck has rumors. The Cavill recasting seems to be more discussed now that JL bombed and by this time the survey was already live.

Not really, it was made after. But there wasn't a lot of Cavill recasting talks where I lurk during that time.

This. It's not about one tone over the other as much as the right tone for the right character. Eg Dark tone for Batman, light tone for Superman
