I look at all the properties DC has and it boggles my mind why they havent made them ongoing or at leastgeta minnie.

Challengers of the unknown i can see being written as a mini by Cooke.

Captain Marvel/Shazam ongoing written by Waid.
JLI(this was a wildy popular book) why not bring it back? more money in your wallet,DC! why would anyone read a book about the big three and others in a team when they all have thier own book.

if DC is so hell bent on focusing on the big three then they can rename superman and batman to "The Trinity".

anyways how about you guys?

Yes, DC has untapped potential. So do Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, Dynamite, Boom, Avatar, Fantagraphics, McSweeney's, Newsweek, Fox News, America, the human race...

I'd love to see a series that takes place on another Earth in the multiverse. For example, Earth-4. I just wanna see all those Charlton characters together in action. The Question, Blue Beetle, Captain Atom...

So really, what you're wanting is a sequel to Watchmen.

(Actually, that would be nice)

what was the point of your post?

 x2000!

Yeah, they do. I still say Green Lantern should have replaced WW YEARS ago. She lost a popularity contest to Storm! Not knocking Storm but it says a lot about her. Dude should have had a movie by now cuase he has a huge following.

I wouldn't mind a "Global Guardians" mini series. I think that the Guardians are an interesting bunch of characters and should be utilised more often. In general I would like to see all of the non U S heroes in the DCU utilised more often; even if it is only as guest stars in other comics. "Lionheart" and "The Beefeater" for example might be fairly average characters, but there is no reason that they couldn't appear as supporting characters for an adventure set in the British Isles .

A few years ago D C did a whole bunch of albums with characters from other countries interacting with various well known U S heroes, including a team from Argentina (I think) who had an adventure with "The Flash". Why couldn't some, or all of them be utilised as supporting characters for non U S based adventures with well known characters ?

Simply that your point has been belabored and beaten to death a million times over by a million people.

Phil Jimenez apparently had a massive series bible for a series. He had an atlas, an encyclopedia of all of DC's old international heroes and some new ones, with character designs and backstories, all kind of information on DCU international and domestic politics...and DC wouldn't do the book.

Well, of course not. Then DC wouldn't be able to change continuity for characters at their whimsies. Can you imagine Superman if his origin wasn't re-explored every 5 years?

Frankly I still say they could do a "DC Legends" series.
Non-canon, typically single stories (like in Legends of the Dark Knight), except featuring any and all characters DC has to offer, and a huge range of writing and artist talent. It'd be a great starter point for new readers etc, and a chance for writers to reinvigorate old characters and not have to worry about 'events' and other crap.

I don't think there's any reason they have to be non-canon, as opposed to just out of continuity. Also, they already did that book. It was called Legends of the DC Universe, and it wasn't quite as good as LotDK was.

God, I miss LotDK.

I do too. They scrapped LotDK for Batman Confidential? Sad.

I want more period books like Jonah Hex and Sandman Mystery Theatre.

Batman Confidential's finally gotten to the point, with this Wrath Child arc, where I can say I'm having as much fun with it as I ever did with Legends of the Dark Knight. But we all know it won't last. Frankly, writers just aren't as good as they used to be. Find me a writer from the new generation who could write me something like Legends #50. A one-and-done story, perfectly executed, a solid balanced level of story compression/decompression, interesting dialogue, fun plot twists, extraordinary characterizations...and again, all in one great issue. Show me a writer who could do that, in one issue, in Batman Confidential, and I'll show you the guy who should be writing Batman comics for the next ten years.

Was there any reason given for not doing the book ? Did they just think that it wouldn't sell to their "core" (i e U S) audience ?

Yeah that would be great, wouldn't sell.

JLI, never sold well.

Because Superman/Batman sells better than Superman/Batman/Wonder woman.

It's anyway.

I want to see Etrigan in Vertigo. That's it.
Why do people always want to limit the DCU? We've lost enough good characters to Vertigo. We haven't seen John Constantine or Swamp Thin in the DCU in years. There was a time I thought Animal Man wouldn't ever come back. Not to mention Jonah Hex. We're lucky to have them back, and there's no reason to sacrifice more good characters when they can come up with their own good stuff like Y The Last Man and Fables.

I'd very much prefer it if DC simply lifted this ridiculous Vertigo embargo they have.

Yeah that would be great, wouldn't sell.

its a mini, its by Cooke. it'll sell moderately well. If DC can make a cyborg and raven mini, why can't challengers of the unknown:huh:

Wouldn't sell.

yes it would before winick got his hands on the character...

JLI, never sold well.

So isn't blue beetle.

Because Superman/Batman sells better than Superman/Batman/Wonder woman.

how do you know:huh:

It's anyway.

keep drinking Haterade,son.

Yeah, those Raven and Cyborg minis aren't going to sell. And if Darwyn Cooke was such a draw, The Spirit wouldn't have sold outside of the Top 100. Facts, what I'm using versus Crazy logic, what you're using. Facts WIN!

Captain Marvel has never sold well, NEVER, and probably never will.

Well, yeah, Blue Beetle doesn't sell, funny, that has nothing to do with JLI being a fan favorite but ultimately not translating into sales.

Because Wonder Woman doesn't sell even close to what Batman and Superman do. Superman/Batman outsells Wonder Woman's title on a constant basis. Maybe to DC and a lot of us WW, Bats and Supes are the Big 3, but the Big 3 is really like the Big 2 and Wonder Woman because we need someone with a *****.

In all fairness, Wonder Woman sells about as well as Superman, these days. Not remotely as well as Action Comics or Superman/Batman, but roughly as well as Superman.

[/devil's advocate]

well then DC must not be following your logic, Raven is still being produced and Cyborg is still solicited, and hell if your logic was really the case for nothing selling, then we wouldn't have any mini's being produced wouldn't we? Dragon's Blood still got produced,Atom Eve still got produced,Countdown to mystery, and countless others.

Captain Marvel has never sold well, NEVER, and probably never will.

o0o0 heres where you're wrong! its pretty much a known fact when Captain Marvel was still at Fawcett comics it outsold Superman by a pretty large margin. look it up son.

and a blue bettle ongoing does? beaten by your own logic.

what does sales of her ongoing have to do with a Trinity title:huh:

like i said before, keep sipping on that haterade.

you know what, just shut the hell up darth. don't even reply back.

LOL! GAH, you wouldn't know logic if it came at you in hot women form and gave you a *******.

Well, in that case, I really do doubt he would know it was logic. He'd probably think it was just a hot chuck giving him head.
