I remembered an article where it talked about that the stories we have now, the future ones, being the ultimate future of the DCU depending on its current state. It said pre-IC, the DCU's ultimate future might have been DKR. Now, because of IC and OYL, the ultimate future seems to be that of Kingdom Come.

What do you think of the ultimate future of the DCU is right now?

DKR
KC
Other

Pre-IC it was working a lot more towards KC than it was DKR, IMO.

They were irrelevant since their inception, really.

I think that DC's future is ending up in a blend of the Silver Age and Kingdom Come.

Concur, the story viewed for what it is, an elseworld is great, but its not my ideal view of the future DCU.

I'd rather it have some similarities to KC but be mainly original. I'd rather explore some fresh concepts.

Superman with Diana is awesome though. I wish they'd hint at that now.

Not gonna happen. Superman is married to Lois. Now that the divorce of Reed and Sue Richards and the death of Mary Jane is most likely inevitable, you can't have those two divorcing

Or maybe just some foreshadowing of Clark realizing the real possibily that he will outlive Lois....after witnessing the death of E2 Lois.

The way Reed has been acting in Civil War...ignoring his wife, supporting registration with open arms and willing to take down his friends, acting unconcerned about Johnny's coma, the Daily Bugle: Civil War edition saying that Reed and Sue's marriage is getting rocky, the cover of Civil War #6 of Sue with Namor, it appears that Marvel is forshadowing that Reed and Sue will get divorced.

Joey Q has been mentioning forever how much he hates a married Spider-Man saying how it is ruining the stories (yet he makes him go public), he seems determined to end the Spider-Man/Mary Jane marriage.

Hell, they even forshadowed that something will happen to Peter's family in Amazing Spider-Man #534 where Peter says that if he's still alive and something happens to his family he will be blaming Stark for it.
