Dead Man's Chest vs. Superman Returns

Superman Returns says "Screw the Quest for Peace, I want my extra (at least) 200 million that POTCDMC robbed from, I'm on a quest for revenge, in the street cred category"

Another movie fight? This one may have some legitimacy to it, basically the two summer heavy weights Pirates of the Carribean, vs. Superman Returns, which did you actually like better?

My opinion, I completely hate Superman Returns, and loved POTCDMC, but I know their are many on here who disagree with me, so let the fighting commense

I loved em both. Supermans was great but maybe a little bit flawed and Pirates was amazing but also maybe dragged a bit. Therefore i think they were both awesom.

Both were pretty bad and I'd die happily never seeing either again, but if forced, I'd probably pick SReturns.

I like SR..it was not a stand out movie just OK...DMC was much more fun to watch....I was shocked that it made so much...it crushed every Box office record....I thought the first one was much better....sooooo uuuummm I vote for both

I totally agree the first one is head and shoulder knees and toes better then DMC, but I still really enjoy DMC, especially over the over serious (imo) SR

only thing that didn't make DMC better than the first was the Act on the island.....I thought that was just useless in terms of the movie...after the island act the movie picked up...Davy Jones at first I didn't like but watchin the movie over he grew on me....his scene are imo the best part of the movie especially his introduction

DMC was excellent, it reminded of watching the goonies and jonny quest with my dad when I was a kid. The less said about SR the better.

Superman Returns wasn't even as good as the first Superman Movie. How its gettinag sequel god only knows. Anyway D.M.C was a way better film. Not the best film i ever saw but it was easily the best summer film this year.

You mean the Laurol and Hardy routine, where Jack runs around like an idiot? Yeah That didn't boed to well for me ether, DMC was also missing a tab bit of the flair Curse had for me, it might be the lack of Geoffery Rush, but Nighly was very good as a villain too...I dunno there was just something DMC was missing for me that make it like a 7 1/2 where Curse is at like a 9 1/2

There is no harm or shame in walking out....except you would have missed barbossa! Since you didn't like the movie you probably could care less for that 'twist' ending

I'm with you Longshot. I too completely hate Superman Returns and liked Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.

i don't walk out on movies, it's disrespectful to the people who worked hard to make it. plus if i walked out on a johnny depp movie, my girlfirend would never forgive me.
the barbosa ending was a bit of a shock, i must admit. hopefully the third will be better, i really like the first one.

At first I couldnt stand SR... simply because it was nothing really that different from Richard Donner's Superman but as I watch it on dvd it's kinda growing on me. It has its moments.

But still hands down Dead Man's Chest is the better film.

Definently. SR was a love story with action. Normally, I love that! But when the best sceen was him saving the plane, you have to wonder if it was done right. I love Lex Luthor, and Spacey was great, but I want a supervillian fight. Not kryptonite over and over and over again. But I still give it a 8 out of 10.

pirates 2 sucked soooo bad. it was boring as hell, and the only 2 redeaming factors were johnny depp (kind of, since this time it just felt like he was doing a parody of the first movie) and the special effects, which were outstanding, unrivaled, even... but, they didn't really do anything great with them. sure, davy jones looked marvelous, but all he ever did was stand there.

the movie was boring as all hell, and way too long considering that, in the end, nothing really happened.

superman returns is easily one of my favorite movies, and one of the best superhero movies hands down, and i simply do not understand the hate it gets. it is a nearly flawless film, in my opinion.
