This may sound strange but has anyone ever been given clothes that were from a dead relative?

Like for one reason or another someone in the family thought that you should have that person's clothes.

My grandfather died in December and now my grandmother wants me to have some of his clothes, and I think it's kind of weird.

Oh, no. My family has a thing with hats though. My mother has a hat that belonged to her father, and I got one of my cousin's caps from the Army after he died. They're just keepsakes though.

I raided my Grandfather's closet when he died. I was sad he was gone -- but that's what his will said I could do so no sense looking gift horses in the mouth.

I have a pin from when my great grandma died :)

I have a carved coconut head that my great grandmother used to own.

I have a couple of my dad's old football shirts.

Oh, this isn't clothes, but the other week I bought an acoustic guitar from my ex's mum. It belonged to her boyfriend. I only met him once, played the guitar with him, and then about a month later, just after what he described as 'the best sex of is life', he dropped dead from a dodgy ticker. She screwed him to death - glad I'm out of that family. :wow:

So I bought it. I think it's haunted because the stand keeps falling over. Plays nice though. :word:

I wouldn't, but that's just me. It seems...morbid to me.

Manchester, actually. I don't think the googles is your friend.

My aunt just left my grandfathers room as is after he passed. Now it's just a guest room with all of his stuff, including clothes still in it. It's been years and every now and then when I stay in there I'll peak around the closet and keep things I like (with permission).

I have a few thick old wool cardigans of my grandma's. I wear them to make me feel better when I'm ill or stuff. Not out in public though

I've used "ticker" and I'm from Brooklyn.

A bad 'ticker' is used in Liverpool too

I don't think it's weird...I'm sure she wants you to have them not only to wear, but to remind you of him when you wear them. It's like having a part of him with you...I'm sure she means it to be special, not upsetting.

I was just a given a couple blazers belonging to my almost dead grandfather. And yes, it is creepy/weird. They're blue with gold buttons if anyone wants them.

Jeez, who took a dump in your Cheerios?

She wants me to have his underwear too.

i can understand owning articles of clothing... but ugh... most of my grandpa's clothes... hell probably all of it, i wouldn't wear myself... and nor would i even my dads (but then again my dad is too big for me to fit into

The name of this thread would be a good name for a Zombie movie.

Anyway my dad got a hat from his step dad. He hasn't worn it though. I wouldn't either.

I have a couple of items from my grandfather, but i wouldn't wear his clothes. Maybe try and broach the subject with your Grandma and suggest they may be better off donated to charity?
