Deadly Nam (2006) - reference to Punisher?

I found this movie on IMDb and it caught my eye because there is a character named Frank Castle and it happens in Vietnam War. Could the character be a referecne to Punisher or is it just an coincidende?

Trying to find anyone who has seen this movie is quit difficult but it's way too much of a coincidence - it must have been intentional... the guy who plays frank castle helped write the screenplay, and produce this thing... so I mean it only makes sense. I'll update once I know more.

UPDATED:

Translated some German websites to find what I could. Frank Castle is the sergant of their squad, he has done previous tours and he is a family man... discusses his wife and son and daughter - its definetely specific.

The film is loaded with other pop culture references to Vietnam including a Rambo like character... and is done to spoof numerous Chuck Norris films, among others.

So it is clear that the Frank Castle reference was intentional.
