You're saying Deadpool is as bad as Fantastic Four?

Damn!

Interview where Ryan says he would like to make X-Force a priority. Hopefully Fox will give the reigns to Ryan and Tim once the film hits to expand the corner of the X-Men verse.

Yeah, Reynolds has been name dropping it alot. Kinberg mentioned it at a Deadpool screening as well and said it could be R. And Miller mentioned wanting to see X-23 and Deadpool fight.

Pretty awesome.

Good review. My biggest "fear" is that the humor isn't for me. I can swallow (pun unintended) a dick and poop joke every now and then, but I don't need an endless barrage of them thrown into my face. I hope the movie leaves breathing room between jokes.
I think there is. Most of Deadpool's origin is treated pretty serious and tragic. His transformation is pretty brutal.

Me too. AM2 - Andrew Garfield's wise cracks got really annoying after a while in that movie because they were one after the other.

Well, this is a straight out action COMEDY (and so are the comics), so I'm sure there's gonna be tons of wisecracks and jokes.

But it seems like the filmmakers didn't forget the character's darker and more tragic side.

EDIT: Berlin press conference. Ryan Reynolds says something very important (and I agree 100%): "Everything in the movie should feel like a traditional superhero film. The only one that's in on the joke is Deadpool." (which, by the way, seems to get over a lot of critics' heads, considering they're complaining about it being... 'a superhero (origin) movie.'

Yeah that seems to be the most common complaint so far. An original first 20 minutes and then a traditional super hero movie where (as Ryan pointed out) only Deadpool is in on the joke. I guess some people were expecting the movie to be completely incomprehensible nonsense like the Deadpool game. Personally I'm glad it isn't. I'm the same with the humor in this movie as Greens.

Yeah, and that's a common misconception about the character in general. Many people feel as if the stories involving Deadpool should just venture into a completely whacky area, and forget about any traditional storytelling. Which I don't agree with. And my favorite Deadpool stories are the ones which actually feature a real story and some real character work and stakes, as opposed to pure nonsense extravaganza.

Joe Kelly FTW. Ideal balance

Deadpool...and Weasel...kinda.

But yeah that's fairly accurate.

I agree! And I loved his world-building, with him introducing Blind Al and the Hellhouse, etc.

But I also love the work Fabian Nicieza, Mark Waid, Gail Simone and now Brian Posehn (not anymore) and Gerry Duggan have done on the character.

And I think the best single Deadpool story ever is probably The Good, the Bad and the Ugly from the Posehn/Duggan run.

BO.com upped their projection from $76m to $81m

I think it's going to have a big weekend, but I'm thinking more like $60-65 million tops. The film has a ton of great buzz right now, but I don't want to over-predict.

$76-81 million just seems a little too high, but I guess we'll see.

OK 4-day weekend and I can kind of get. I just want it to make more than the opening weekend for Daredevil since it was released the same time.

Guess Patch was cut from the script and Weasel took over his role to consolidate characters and stay within budget.

Rather have more lines for Weasel anyways.

They did some character switching for budgetary reasons, yeah. They made a villain henchman change as well if I'm remembering all of the interview and news stuff correctly.

Yeah, Garrison Kane was cut. Along with Wyre and Sluggo.

Just read Killebrew was as well. But he was barely in it.

I hope Weasel survives the film. I've always had a soft spot for this very peculiar friend and side-kick of Wade's.

Great picture!

So awesome to finally see Reynolds at this point. The guy deserves it.
