Why don't you post some Oakzap?
SpideyInATree said:Right. I've heard that before, that the gothic style of today evolved from the New Wave style in the 80's. As I said earlier in the thread a couple of my long time friends have a gothic lifestyle. They dress normally most of the time though but on special occassions that get into their lifestyle. I respect them for it and they don't go pushing it on other people or bother people with it. Though, I'm a T-shirt and jeans type of guy and fashion is something that is beyond me at this point.
But everytime I see someone with their hair dyed, a million piercings in their face, and tatoos all over their body...I can't help but think to myself, "Wow, you are REALLY going out of your way in looking for attention". It may not be the case with a lot of people but I can't help but think that.
To me it's not about the lifestyle you lead or the way you dress, but it's in how you treat other people. That's all that matters and unfortunately there are too many people in this world who would rather quickly judge your personality on the way you dress, than how you act.
Lucy in the sky said:i just read all 9 pages had some laughs, cried a few times, good overall experiecne. I love emos one is hot! I know guys who listen to black meta lbut aren't goth? Some guy calls me emo all the time and it is aggravating because i wear superhero shirts with bluejeans and i have old glasses from the fifties![]()
Goddamn mofo's!Leto Atrides said:If that's anything it's more hipster than emo, assuming you were wearing the shirts to be "retro-ironic" or something. Unless the shirt and jeans are too small for you.
The Joker said:I think I might want to do her...and by that I of course mean have sex with![]()
Immortalfire said:How many emo kids does it take to change a lightbulb?
None, they'd rather sit in the dark and cry.
AhahahahaWallCrawl said:I prefer "I wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself."

Superman79 said:You know what saddens me...I cannot stand goth stuff and Hot Topic, but lately they have had some great Superman shirts...thus necessitating me to purchase something from them...I am ashamed![]()
terry78 said:I think what it boils down to is, so long as your lifestyle isn't forced upon anybody else, we should all be cool. I'm the only one out of my little clique of guys that don't drink, but I don't get on their asses about getting massive tipsy every weekend, and vice versa. I can chill with an emo dude, so long as he doesn't go on and on about his feelings and why everything sucks. Gloom and doom type mother****ers I can live without.
Leto Atrides said:It was from the early 80s. Stuff like Bauhaus. Though that's not really New Wave, now that I think about it. My mistake.
I agree it's gone to **** as of late, but it did have some legitimacy at some point. It seems like people are treating it as something that's fairly new, and that it's just whiny teenagers. Many people today are annoying, and throw it in others' faces, but that's not really part of what it should be, and it wasn't always that way.
I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt, and want to draw a distinction. It seems like this whole thread is, "Oh, goths and emos. They're all the same. Those stupid kids. They always bother me. Idiots just want attention."
Whether it's goth or emo...it doesn't matter. The worst kind of kids are the suburbanite ******s...like something out of Malibu's Most Wanted, heh. NOW THAT'S SAD! Listen to rap if you enjoy it and even bust a few rhymes if your heart tells you to...but for the love of God. You are not black. You'll never be black. And black people don't even like you. They just put up with you because you're giving them money.
